Dual GPU Systems are only complicated because boards need to support at least PCIe 4.0/5.0 x16 and PCIe 4.0/5.0 x8 at the same time. And I only found exactly one configuration which could work with one GPU vertically mounted, which would look much nicer, using two riser cables.

But what is the first and second party then? It’s all subject to the definition.

I’m also wondering why there is even a difference in FPS in higher class CPUs - shouldn’t it be the GPU bottlenecking, especially in 4k high settings?

I didn’t even know Sony makes games, and I was pretty surprised by it, because I wouldn’t buy any game from them anyway out of fear of exactly what happened

“[…] switching the default search engine back to Bing […] from Google Search (or whatever other browser is set as default).”

Google is a Browser now, neat. And somehow it’s relevant in a post about search engines.

“Microsoft Edge, the default browser pre-installed on Windows machines, and Bing Search aren’t bad products by any means - they are solid alternatives to Google’s own Chrome and Search.”

They may be good compared to Chrome and now also Google. But even rotten eggs are better than literal shit, at least for most people.

You said it:

pile of garbage shills defending it

There are also people defending Nestle. You just got to search hard enough. Yet the consensus is still against it, especially compared to other companies, or here, games. Many smaller game studios or even indie devs are far more successful imo.

To be fair, AAA games are bullshit anyways. I believe I have never seen a modern AAA game that is not utter shit with EVERYONE complaining about it.

Also, when AMD goes under, Linux users are fucked even more.

True that, but I imagine such sudden flicking to seemingly random positions to be much more obvious than if the hacker had 10 seconds to see the player, tactically preaiming a corner pretending to hold an angle to then be lucky and hit a shot. Would be harder on games with smaller maps, CS like, as holding angles would be much more common than in open worlds - eg. Tarkov.

By rendering people, as in sending data about an object that should be rendered, in a few pixels before they would be visible. And not at all on distances, without a scope (as they would not be visible). Footsteps etc. could be represented by two noise levels precalculated by the servers very roughly, so you can tell someone is there behind you, but a cheat could not determine where exactly.

I certainly want to upgrade so something that isn’t NVidia and is made for 4k.

Yeah, you’re just human beings, but your bosses are greedy fuckers. I don’t hate you specifically, I just hate most AAA studios.

I set up a Windows PC for a friend, and he insisted on using his M$ account (bad decision). That caused the Desktop folder (not Downloads, not Documents, just the Desktop) to be stored in OneDrive. So as I tried to load his old PC’s Software hive, to extract the windows key, it crashed the PC. No problem, the original hive was still exported on the Desktop. I just rebooted into the boot stick and tried to load the hive there. After searching for the Desktop folder for 30 minutes, I finally located it in the OneDrive folder. And despite it being there, and taking up space, according to dir, it couldn’t be accessed, like wtf?

  • Who wants to share the desktop, but not Downloads etc? In contrast to the other user folders, the desktop is filled with program links that won’t even work anywhere else.
  • And why not make it accessible in a live boot? Like, it was obviously accessible to some degree, but not readable somehow? Wtf?

They could stop being dogshit. That would be good. Like a launcher that I don’t need to wait for ten times longer than my Arch boot.

Finally. But I’m very curious if it will be Linux native … and if so, compatible with Wayland, unlike Exodus.

I ran LFS on my Latitude 13. Not the one from 2016 or something, but from 2010, with an Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.3GH and 4 GB RAM. It did work pretty well still, for anything not related to browsing the internet, even on Arch Linux.

They actually tested 4k … that’s really rare to find, but my eyes bleed at lower resolutions lol

Still waiting for the next game by 4A Games, they literally ended Exodus with “We need to save everyone” like wtf THEN DO IT

HDD as data storage is fine, but neither will you need 10 TB of storage for games nor will it lie around for 10 years or so.

I just switched from an e5470 to a 5420. I miss i8k, but welcome USB-C (and the faster speed so compiling AUR packages doesn’t suck anymore).

And as someone that used various Dell systems for some time now: The only annoying part is the missing drivers for Linux.

Especially because this exact article with a non clickbait title has gone around two-three weeks ago

In contrast to the original site, the web archive does not want to give you cookies. Also, in case the article is deleted, changed or put behind a paywall, no one needs to do anything as the original is still in place here.

Just another example of Windows missing key components for being a good operating system. Yes, they have the Microsoft Store, but it’s filled with fakes and FOSS programs for 20$ or more. Meanwhile MacOS makes it really hard to install from other sources and provides almost everything in the App Store, and we don’t even need to talk about Linux.

I only ever got problems with my Arch install on my main PC (testing repos, updated every boot/shutdown) once, when NVidia drivers updated. On my servers, also Arch and testing repos, but updated monthly, there never were any problems.

In contrast, Ubuntu/Pop stopped booting properly after a year or so, and due to the more closed, out of the box and undocumented nature (while one knows their Arch system to the single package if one installs it themselves) it was nearly impossible to debug.

Well where do you think your 2000 dollar goes? The product? Ha. Apple is and was a scam for a decade.

I’ve 14 items in Authy, and basically never used SMS as 2FA. Only to validate my identity on first signup. The only time SMS was used as 2FA for me was by the company I had an internship in programming in.

you can very easily disable Stories on Signal

Which is yet another point for Signal overall :)

Signal has Stories too, tbh. All apps are beginning to integrate them. Still, they suck.
The worst thing about Telegram was and still is that End to End encryption is a special add on feature and not the default. Group chats aren’t secure either. The only reason why Telegram is used as more secure for illegal activities is that it does not cooperate with law enforcement well and has its HQ in Dubai. That does not prevent any hacks or leaks tho.

Google is not at fault here, not at all. If at all, Google is just responsible for a not fully up to date product, which could enrage consumers at worst. If that guy literally couldn’t see the road he also was unable to stop for an animal or even human.
It’s not Google’s responsibility to drive responsible for their users; drivers need to do so safely with or without help from maps of any kind.
If the false information had caused an emergency vehicle to be misguided which led to the death of the patient I would agree that Google is at some fault.

Other than that, the companies responsible for caring about the bridge should be at fault here somewhat too, even though it’s not their responsibility to - again - ensure a driver can stop in time at their current speed and the given weather conditions. Yet they should mark a road as dead end and block the road as done at eg. natural cliffs where roads are ending, with proper material, so blocks of concrete stopping even tanks.
