I don’t think there’s much new info on what’s in the DLC but I found this bit right at the end:

In regards to the DLC’s story being about the past, the interviewer asks if this means that the DLC takes place in the past, and Miyazaki denies this, saying that it takes place in the same timeframe as the main story, and the past of the Land of Shadows and Queen Marika is told in the same way that the history of the Shattering War is told in the main game.
According to Vaati, from interviews given to Japanese magazines, the entrance to the DLC is Miquella’s arm coming from the cocoon at the back of Mogwyn palace. So you’ll likely have to at least get past Mogh, Lord of Blood, to enter.
Honestly, he’s easier than the one in the sewer. At least Lord of Blood bleeds.

Rumor is you need to interact with a certain cocoon in a certain boss room. Wink wink
