Very cool! I’ve wanted a flight sim with a story mode like this for a while, I’ll definitely give it a look.

Looks like a dad game. Love it!

For my taste, the biggest challenge flight simulators have is making the world interesting enough to warrant the time I will spend learning how to play.

Because they need to cover huge distances, most sims just feel completely empty, and even the MS flight simulator is just an approximation of an empty, ugly polygonal world.

I kind of wish there was something akin to Sunless Sea or Sunless Skies, where the destination is more interesting than just a dull menu with slight differences.

Sorry for being negative, I just wish that game existed.

That is a really cool idea. I think the problem is it’s just a bit too niche. A good portion of the people intrigued by the narrative and world-building might get stymied by the travel simulation (I’m envisioning both flying and sailing) and the simulation nerds might just skip past the text and story to get back into flying.

It’s certainly something that an indie dev has to shoulder for pure passion of seeing an idea come into the world, and that requires an idea that grabs you. Targeting it as an underserved market will only backfire.

More of an arcade flight sim, but I think this covers what you are looking for:

I have it, thanks. There’s a lot to like, but the water gun mechanic, as you said, felt very arcadey.
