I’ve been wanting to Curb my Doom Scrolling Habits as of Recent as I’ve been wasting waaaay to much time opening the Same Apps 5 Times in 10 Minutes.

One Method thats been Said to Work wonders in that Regard is to have Apps only be accessible after typing in a Password. After doing a bit of Light research it seems I’ll need an App for this as I don’t wanna deal with Samsungs “Safe Folder” needing a Samsung Account stuff.

Do any of you have Suggestions for Trust Worthy Apps for this?

This is built into Android now. It’s called “private space”. It’s in the “security and privacy” settings.

I believe you need a separate Google account for the separate space, just FYI.

Dunno if it is an android 16 feature or a crdroid feature, but I have this:

Android’s “Work Profile” feature provides you a sandbox, allowing you to isolate “work” apps from your regular phone apps. I’ve never used Samsung’s secure folder, but it looks like the two are similar.

“Shelter” (Available on F-Droid) provides an easy way to setup and manage your work profile.

With the work profile set up, you can lock the work profile behind a separate password. (Settings -> Security & Privacy -> More security & privacy. Disable “Use one lock” and set a password)

Can confirm secure folder, that’s how I use it. And it’s neat that you can rename it and give it a different icon. Mine is “Settings” with a cog icon.

No, but I just use a browser for everything. That alters my habits quite a bit. The apps are optimised for retention. When I’m in a browser, it just hits different for me, like I’m going to a public commons versus some lord or the rings magic jewelry kept in my digital pocket. It is not a thing I own, or am a part of in a tribalistic sense.
