Hasbro's Q3 digital gaming revenues surge thanks to Baldur's Gate 3's incredible success on console and PC, BG3 helped make over $133 million for Hasbro.
With BG3 Larian is becoming a recognized name in the mainstream. If Hasbro is going to try and fuck them over they will just forgo the D&D IP and use their own IP or another RPG of another company for their next game. And still see success. And I bet the vast majority of BG3 player don’t know anything of D&D anyway.
I always wondered how much of the profit is going to who.
Like, is hasbro making 80% of the profit? Habro 20%, wotc another 20% ( despite hasbro owning wotc) ? How much is larian actually cashing in on?

Hasbro has no control over the developers, they are just making money because the devs have to pay for the rights to d&d
Luckily that is the case. I just hope that they don’t think that they need more control for some future project to squeeze out even more money.
It wouldn’t be control over Larian. They constantly express that they are self published and self owned, it’s something they’re proud of.
That said, money talks.
