Hmmm “leadership shakeup” is definitely a canary in the coal mine that this game is not gonna be good, regardless of the changes. They just need to shelve it and come back in a couple years with a team that actually wants to make the game.
To put this in comparison, a good half of the entire gaming industry was hyped as shit for Bioshock 2. Game developers have lost every bit of fan faith in their products.
You know when being told “there’s a new one”, that it’s probably terrible by default.
Bioshock 1 was an actual shock. 2, never finished it. Infinite, differently themed shooter with some twists that already had it reaching out to alternative universes but wasn’t so much of a “bio shock”.
Alternate universes is the modern version of jumping the shark. Starfield did it on its first go, and look at how that ended. Look at Marvel.
Can’t understand why Bioshock got that much attention and System Shock sort of got ditched for other companies to remaster. Now do SoulShock.

I only recognise Bioshock games with an Irrational Games splash screen. This will be the Thief 4 of the Bioshock series.

IIRC Ken Levine wanted to make another System Shock game but Irrational couldn’t get the rights.
Beyond this, the performance of 2k over the past 10+ years also does not fill me with confidence. At this point, their games are for the high seas.
