Cult of the Lamb publisher Devolver Digital's latest financial report reveals it rejected several subscription offers, believing they undervalued its games.

Calling Devolver Digital the “Cult of the Lamb publisher” is like calling Pixar the “Toy Story 4 creators”. It’s not untrue, but they’re also known for publishing a lot of other things. But I get why they picked this game for the headline, it’s in vogue right now.

It’s an amazing game. I love murdering cuddly things with devil worship.

It gives me strong Woodland Critter Christmas vibes lol

I did it too much and got to the end of the sorcery chain too early. Then I was just sacrificing my friends for fun instead of “and profit”.

It’s also like the perfect example of a gamepass game.

I loved it for like 3 days and then it ran out of depth and I haven’t touched it since.

the company believed they undervalued the games.

Almost definitely true. The type of games that devolver publishes are often fantastic, but they are smaller experiences that a subscription model would nigh certainly never pay for fairly.

Devolver have done some terrific games going way back - I think the first time I played one of their games was the first Reigns for mobile and that was what, 2016?

Their name is a good indicator of quality so good for them thinking rationally about what they have to offer to players and not just taking the money
