Hey everyone! I am currently making a horror game called The 18th Attic where you have to hunt ghosts in your attic by taking a Polaroid picture of them! It is mostly inspired by Fatal Frame, but this part is inspired by that Resident Evil 8 Mannequin and a tinyyy bit of Weeping angels from Doctor Who scene!
For the mannequins, I wanted them to be slightly caught instead of the old way of just spawning and popping off camera so I had to animate them and make them actually move and took the hard way but I am pretty happy with it. What do you guys think? Also my cat will help you out in the game as you can pet her, and it will increase your sanity level too! haha

Mannequins scare the heck out of me.
I blame it on Herbie Hancock’s music video for the song Rock It. (Still one of the most unintentionally horrifying things I’ve ever seen.)
Also, if you like mannequin horror, the game The Devil In Me is a must-play.

I once talked to a former military police officer and current cop about the only time he’d discharged a weapon outside of a training scenario ever.
He was walking through a department store looking for some individual, the details of who and why weren’t important to him and so weren’t shared. Anyway, somebody bumped in to a mannequin next to him and he discharged his entire clip in to it before he realized it wasn’t a person.
I love that mechanic. It forces the players movement to be more strategic while ramping up the tension. “I have to look away to get around this obstacle, can I do it quick? How close will it be when I look back?” Then you get stuck on something and it’s like “shitshitshit”
