I continued working my way through Oblivion’s Shivering Isles DLC today. I didn’t end up making it far as i experienced a crash that undid a bit of progress. It was the first time i’ve had the game itself crash which i’m surprised about. I’ve hear a ton of people saying it crashes regularly so having it crash only once i’ve beaten the main story is a bit interesting. I feel like Bazzite has crashed more than this game to be honest.

One of the quests took me to this dungeon. I wasn’t already too keen on doing it after my crash, as the Dungeons are far from my favorite part of Elder Scrolls, but it ended up letting me control the dungeon a little which was fun. It was in a very hands holdy way, like when your little and your parents would let you “help” in the kitchen. And by help i mean they’d have you do the simple tasks. It was still a lot of fun to be in control of the dungeon, though i felt guilty about what happened to the adventurers after.

I ended up also doing the quest where you help the Duchess of Dementia. The whole mystery angle it had was kind of fun, though i do wish it was used in quest outside of one where you’re protecting a paranoid monarch. There’s the whole massacre in that chapel though in Cyrodil, so maybe there’s a similar situation to that and i missed it. I might go back and do that one after Shivering Isles to see, because i absolutely love when games have a side quest where you get to investigate things.

The quest ended up pointing to this old lady as the person behind the scheme. Apparently she wants the Duchess dead because she has a romantic relationship with the Duke of Mania. I’m not really sure what the issue with that is, but she ended up being brought to this cell. I didn’t realize this doubled as an execution until after, but she looks so calm about the situation.

After helping the Duchess, i went to go see what the duke wanted, not before stopping by the main area though and noticing the new trophies that line the wall. I think it’s a cool detail to track the quests like this with trophies. Assassin’s Creed Unity did something similar and so did Fable 3 as well i believe.

The duke ended up wanting my help finding some chalice. I initially believed this would be a simple fetch quest, but it ended up with me having to go interrogate people. I wasn’t sure how long it would take so i quit it there for the day.

I’m surprised you’ve only had one crash yet. I’ve had a few so far now. I think it’s mostly the graphics though. I once had an inventory full of hundreds of alchemy ingredients and I tried to buy more and the game crashed. If I’m sprinting through the open world and looking around too much, the game can freeze up and crash while it’s trying to load in the world.

It’s a little touchy for me lol.

i’ve come close a few times but it usually freezes and unfreezes. The most common point i notice this is with the Countess of Bruma. If she even so much as stands up in the same room as me then my game will freeze for a few seconds. It made the main story hell
