Minecraft's latest update ends support for virtual reality and Mixed Reality, though a mod still exists to allow users to experience Minecraft in VR.

The official VR support for Minecraft Bedrock was garbage anyways. I never got it working with the HTC Vive or the Valve Index, but AFAIK its feature set was limited.

Vivecraft for Minecraft Java has way more features, is incredibly customizable regarding controls and comfort settings, and works with a wide range of headsets. It’s been a bit since I’ve booted it up, but every time I jump back in, I’m delighted at just how well it works.

Minecraft bedrock edition, that is.

Real Minecraft still supports VR.

Java Minecraft doesn’t and never has supported VR, we’ve always needed a mod for that. Bedrock was the only one with official VR support.

Official, unofficial, why does it matter? The Java VR mod works 1000x better than bedrock’s VR ever did,

It doesn’t matter, I’m just clarifying Java Edition doesn’t support VR like the comment above claimed it did. The mod was always the best way to play in VR, but it’s not a supported way to play because it’s a mod.

It’s supported by the mod developer. Minecraft is relevant because of it’s huge modding scene, mods literally make the game. So I don’t see why “official” support for a feature really matters here. It’s perfectly fine to say VR is still supported on real Minecraft.

The java edition supports VR mods. So it “Supports VR” in the sense of “this is where VR works”

The bedrock edition supports nothing and is capable of nothing.

It’s a semantics game, but if you want Minecraft in VR, you have to use java edition.

Most good things in Minecraft are modded and java is infinitely better than bedrock as a result. Differentiating between base support and modded features in java is contrary to the whole point of java edition
