Chelsea are still trying to beat Liverpool to Moisés Caicedo and are prepared to bid more than £110m https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/aug/11/liverpool-chelsea-moises-caicedo-brighton?CMP=share_btn_tw
This is a massive signing for both teams, and I’m curious to see where he goes. Liverpool would be the smatter choice, but I’m sure Chelsea are willing to pay more. Either way both teams need him, but I’m sad to see him leave Brighton.
Chelsea this morning asked Moises Caicedo to wait as they explore a way of hijacking Liverpool’s own hijack. Caicedo hasn’t travelled for a medical yet. #LFC have a £111m deal agreed with Brighton, but #CFC actively exploring options. One of the craziest stories of any window.🇪🇨
In the followup:
Liverpool’s position remains the same as last night: try to get a player agreement and medical as soon as possible to avoid twists. They know Chelsea’s tactic. Brighton had considered process closed at midnight last night, but if Caicedo does remain in London (this may be key) they could yet consider a new offer.
