I got a gameboy color skin for the interface and laying in bed at night playing pokemon under the blanket makes me feel like a kid in the 90s again.
Also ‘The Midnight Walk’. The atmosphere and art style are perfection.
I’ve been using RetroArch to replay Pokémon games on my phone recently too. I’m currently on SoulSilver. I actually haven’t run into any of the usual visual bugs with HGSS emulation (black spots, full black screen, etc) which has been great. Every other emulator I’ve used has had those bugs. Maybe I’ve just been lucky this time around but it is a known issue with all ROMs for HGSS for some reason.
That actually looks like a lot of fun! I already know where to find everything so randomizing the entire game would make it feel fresh. Thank you for the suggestion!
You’re welcome, it’s a really good way to inject some new difficulty into a game you already know inside out. Careful about going full rando though, having your weedle evolve into a mewtwo with a 40PP hyper beam might break things a little!
