Aston Villa’s Emi Buendia has injured his ACL and will be out for an extended period of time.
The attacking midfielder suffered the injury during training on Wednesday and Villa say he “will now be under review ahead of a further consultation with a knee specialist”.
Buendia, 26, has played throughout Villa’s pre-season as they prepare for the 2023-24 Premier League campaign, including the whole second half of their final friendly against Valencia last Saturday.
