Agreed. Sad, but Rapinoe just wasn’t in form coming off the bench. Our attack broke down multiple times from her control issues. Rodman was our best threat on offense. Williams managed well enough. But we needed a finisher off the bench and we just don’t have one. Hard not to wonder what could have been if we’d gone with Alyssa Thompson as a late sub, but we’ll never know. Credit to Musovic though, she earned that win for Sweden and I gotta be happy for her. Heartbreaking for USA all the same.
Agreed on all counts. Williams and rodman were both awesome, I thought. Bummer about Rapinoe, especially as her last WC. I think there is a lot of soul searching to do now to avoid this in the future.
