Surprisingly, Rockstar have now added BattlEye anti-cheat to Grand Theft Auto V / GTA Online, and sadly it seems they have not enabled the support for Linux desktop and Steam Deck with Valve's Proton. ARTICLE UPDATED.

BattleEye can’t stop scripting mod hacks in any other game I’ve ever played using it and that’s the number one kind of cheat used in GTA V. 🤦♂️
That’s super interesting. It would not be the first time Rockstar have put measures in place on GTA Online for them to be completely ineffective.
