The Senate was reportedly briefed that Crooks had posted about the attack on Steam

This person’s disconnected nature is super interesting. The thing everyone wants to question is their online content. In this case, they don’t seem to have left a footprint. Were they browsing privately? Was there a person in their life who pushed them the wrong way?

Some people still go through life without posting or taking much on the public internet at all, instead socializing at work or bars. Incomprehensible, I know.

So far it appears he was a loner, with no real life friends. From the public information, it looks like he didn’t do much online socializing either.

There is no indication he was using any kind of privacy tools like a vpn/etc either to carry on an anonymous online social life.

By all accounts, he just didn’t talk to other people at all. The possible “major depression” diagnosis may explain that lack.

That, I’m aware of. In the context of this extreme action it is rare for an individual to not have some telltale online indicator.
