Tl;dw: Epic very optimisticly sells a 10th the amount of Steam, and offer effectively no discoverability. Most indie devs will get sales in the double digits and total playercounts in ths single digits.
It’s not not called a “marketing black hole” for nothing. Even hotly awaited games come out on EGS and just vanish into obscurity until they’re on other storefronts.
Yikes. I knew EGS wasn’t good for business, but those numbers are awful, no wonder most devs either don’t bother with Epic or only put their games in the store when they get an overflowing bag of cash.
