I’m a software engineer, I see it as an useful tool that NEEDS some regulation before it gets exploited at the cost of people’s livelihood.
I just can’t help but think of all the cool ways it could be used in the near future.
It needed regulating before it started being trained on other people’s work without consent.
Artists called the camera theft too. The problem with protecting ones livelihood is a tale as old as time. It’s ok for the robot to replace laborers and it’s ok for the computer to replace accountants but the machine making pictures is where I draw the line.
Your livelihood is always under threat because capitalism designed it that way.
