I have a friend who has been in game dev for about 5 years. He’s just gotten used to the feeling that every day might be his last day. He once found out he lost his job by reading a news article announcing cutbacks and cancellations.
Also, in 5 years, no game he has worked on has ever been completed. They’ve all been cancelled or the company went bankrupt. So he’s also gotten used to feeling like his work is meaningless…but your experience could be different!

I just graduated with a BS in Game Programming. I already feel I’m never getting a job in the industry.
