I’ve actually been using it for years but I’ve never messed with the launch gestures before. That’s a super useful feature.

KISS launcher is exactly what I was looking for in a launcher. 5 always used apps at the bottom calendar and weather widgets on the home screen, search for everything else. It seems like it used to have a lot of problems with custom icons but lately it’s been pretty much perfect.

Local repair shop wants $229 to replace it. Better then the 569 Motorola wanted to fix it. Right to repair for the win.

I think you accidentally put a hex on me. Just this morning I dropped my phone and smashed the front display :(

I don’t have YouTube Pro or whatever its called now and when I listen to music on my Google home it plays an ad after ever song. Since I have switched to Pihole and blocked googles DNS servers the only ads I get are to buy premium YouTube which I assume are hardcoded into something somewhere.

We better be careful, with Googles track record they will be getting rid of YouTube soon and rolling it into whatever they are calling their Skype clone nowadays.

Does anyone know if theres a way to use 3rd party keyboards on the front screen of the 2023 Motorola Razr?
I use heliboard for my keyboard and quite enjoy it but on the 2023 RAZR+ it only allows Gboard to be used on the outer display. No other keyboard will fail to crash on the front screen. I know its a niche issue but this is Android. Surely there's a way around it. Either with some kind of context-aware keyboard that only used Gboard on the outer display or some way to get other keyboards working on the front display.

You pick them yourself. Search for an app, long press and then add to favorites

When that first happened I switched to KISS Launcher. Fully search based. really simple and really fast.

I think a lot of enthusiasts miss out on this point. Its trivial for me to install a Linux distro or custom windows software that’s fully managed my controller input but my buddies that have PlayStation s would panic if they encountered a bios screen or a config file.

There’s a market for steam machines but they need to be basically a steam deck with a power supply, an HDMI output and a controller or it will be a non-starter for most people.

Whew! Add in someone from Raytheon and Elon Musk and we have ourselves a real-life Legion of Doom.

Hey at least you won’t have to sign in anymore just to get automatic driver update checking.

The latest round of AMD apus generated a fair amount of debate about how for the same money you could get a cheap CPU and GPU and best it in most tests.

I think Intel would really shine there especially the A750 since it has a lot of quality hardware features including AV1 encoding.

Wow! Spoilers much?! I can’t believe they spoiled the “Beer Ending” in the trailer…

I will say though that even though I know it will just be a text adventure, I kid of want to play it now.

No! Not our MSI! Not the same folks who strongarmed reviewers to prevent them publishing a bad review, or scalping video cards during the pandemic or the ones that released defective AIO coolers and then half-assed the recall.

Say it isn’t so!

Analogue is doing the lord’s work. Software is easy to copy infinite times but hardware isn’t prevalent or going to last forever.

I hope someday things like this will end up at a more commodity price

So Ascended is a remake of the official release but still “Early Access” and you can’t upgrade from the edition you already have, and they won’t be cross compatible for multiplayer. And it runs like warmed-over ass. Also ARK 2 is supposed to be out next year?

Sounds good to me!

But are the updates still going to be 250gb each? Because if not, can this truly be called ARK?

I have the Razr+ as well. I was just looking for an option that rather than split between 2 apps, have only one app running on the top half of the screen.

I’ve always liked the idea of running a set of parks like 6 flags or something. Parks your friends can visit and ride the rides like RCT3. Amazing. Heck even proper multiplayer could be fun on a game like this. Yet another feature or OpenRCT2. Especially when Parkitect and Planet Coaster exist, why even bother if you aren’t at least going to try?

As someone with literally thousands of hours in RCT 1 2 and 3 combined this looks genuinely awful to me.

OpenRCT2 (RCT2 Mod) has better animations and most likely more quality of life features. Really RCT1 looks better and smoother than this and it did so on a pentium 4 CPU in 2003.

I don’t understand how a 24 year old game is making this new one look so awful. To be fair, Chris Sawyer captured lightning in a bottle for the first game, but come on! You’re telling me a huge studio with millions of dollars and tops of personnel can’t do better than this?

Yeesh.

Must be Samsung only. I’m not able to get this to work on my Motorola RAZR+.

I see the freeform option and I have tested that out. It’s the closest to what I want to do.

I just wish I could click the split screen mode and only choose 1 app to run in the top 50% of the screen and have the other half just be black.

I am able to do split screen in this way. What I am looking for is to run only 1 app but just in the top 50% of the screen.

Looking for ability to run an app in only half of the screen
I have a Razr flip phone that I often use folded halfway (laptop style) and watch videos on the top half while I do other things. Certain video apps center the content across both halves of the screen and I have to activate split screen and put a random app on the bottom half of the screen. Long story short, is there a way to split screen only 1 app to only the top half of the screen? I've tried to search for something but I'm coming up empty.

I was actually looking at my first all touch screen cell phone the LG Dare from like 2008 and the front screen is bigger than that one was.````

My haphazard review of the Motorola Razr+
Apologizes in advance for the wall of text. I wanted to let people know my experience about the Razr+ because I don't think it's got a ton of reviews out there and I "bought" one impulsively the second I could because of how cool it looked. Im not going to go into a ton of technical stuff, more just the experience of using it. The time of the flip phones is on us once again and the Razr+ and the upcoming Galaxy Flip 5 are finally adding something that to me, is a legitimate game changer for smartphones. To me the Galaxy S3/iPhone 4 solidified the smartphone as we know it and since then, other than the last gasps of BlackBerry, there hasn't been much innovation other than features/price. Fundamentally we are still using touch-screen rectangles with 3 buttons. Even the first generations of the smart flip phones were just a folding version of the same rectangle. With this latest generation, the large second screen is finally changing the game again. The mini second screen on the front comes with several preloaded Motorola apps with the promise of more on the way. Luckily in my experience it hasn't been necessary at all because a simple permission allows any Android app to display on the front screen. Any as in Jellyfin, Newpipe, Games, Homeassistant, K9 Mail, the works. And most of the time it works without a hitch. The only caveat is that the only keyboard currently supported on the front screen is Gboard. Something tells me that won't be the case for long though. Basically what I learned is that what I actually need is a thicc boy phone with a 4 inch screen again. Coming from a Pixel 4a, the other thing I appreciate about the screen when it's open is the tall aspect ratio. I can actually run 2 apps side by side and I can have a video app running on the top half and bend the phone to watch it sitting on my belly or on a table. I can't speak a ton to the camera quality because I have never once cared about the camera on my phone but compared to my Pixel 4a it's better and the OIS is significantly better. The gimmick of using the second screen as the camera viewfinder is somewhat useful but it for me it's mostly been a cool feature to impress people. I got the Pantone Pink color from T Mobile and I will say it is *pink* pink. It's the pinkest think I'll ever own and the leatherette back does make it look a lot like a makeup compact. If I could pick again I'd go for the black or blue. This phone fits super well in my front pocket. One of the reasons I held onto my Pixel 4a was because of how compact it is but really this one is even smaller. It's smaller and thinner than a tri-fold wallet and easily fits in either a side pocket or a leg pocket of carpenter pants. But then bam! 6 inch screen. The speakers on this phone are pretty good: loud with no distortion but I feel like the difference between the second loudest level and the loudest are too quiet and then too loud for most of my listening environments. So far the bendy screen is doing fine no weirdness and on a black background the crease is invisible. There is a slight left to right movement of the top half when the phone is closed that seems concerning but if the hinge can handle it, only time will tell. The battery is easily getting me through a whole day without battery saver mode and I am constantly on my phone playing games or working on something or listening to news or a podcast. All in all I love this thing. I feel like I just got my first cell phone all over again, and of course I'm biased because I bought it myself and I am justifying my own purchase in my head but seriously this thing is cool and unlike the last 6 phones I've had (4 Android 2 iPhone) this one is genuinely different. And since I never got a Razr the first time around in 2008, it's been pretty cathartic for me.

Pretty neat idea. It’d be cool to see other implementations of this like a bulit in capture card or 10G network card or something.

Or even cooler a 2 way sli card with dual 4060tis. Don’t see that ever happening though. I’m pretty sure SLI is not a thing anymore.
