GOG also manages the offline installers. Especially for older games. They are known to deliver badly configured DOSBox games. GOG put us in contact with their technical team for one such game. Their technical team just ghosted us.

So it must be “Rent” now? Logically you still purchase a subscription. So this is a very weird solution.

A better solution would be that it has information on what you’re buying. “You can use this even if the game is removed”, “You can play this online and even without starting up Steam”, “Dedicated servers will be released when the game is stopped”, etc etc

I remember one moment where I knew that I would be without internet for a week, so I bought and downloaded a few singe player games. Only for some of them to require an internet connection because of DRM.

I used my phone for internet so I could pirate them, and you wouldn’t believe it but I could suddenly play them offline. I never bought anything from that publisher again.

Most people didn’t use alt accounts because even a main account takes ages to train.

But nowadays there’s different game modes like ironman, and many people have one as well as a main.
