This is why I think the steam deck is the perfect “console” you can basically play anything.

I’m looking forward to playing some more when I have time this week. Another thought is that I’m not a fan of how the fighting works in wolf form. It’s annoying to leap for an enemy for them to just move out of the way by chance.

Thanks! I’ll have to look into the swimming mechanics thing to see what the deal is.

Im kind of leaning towards n64 rom with high res patch. I guess it will be a less demanding emulator to run than 3ds.

One of the reasons tech companies were able to operate for a long time at a loss was due to interest rates being really low.

I think the increased interest rates are the reason for twitter, reddit, and other companies trying to monetize harder.

I could be wrong, I am not an economist. This is just the kind of stuff, I have read in other subs.

It took me about two and a half hours to get to the forest temple. The goat herding was really annoying. I didn’t mind the basket, but I think it is because I knew there were something to do with that monkey.

I’ve never played skyward sword. The control scheme was really annoying on the switch and I am not sure that I care to get used to it. Maybe i will muscle through it for the sake of completeness.

Thanks! I will take a look at that option. In regards to those kinds of windows utility, they normally run just fine with wine. I am surprised how many utilities just run perfectly and are able to patch games. I have used some utilities like this to patch wiiu games without any problems.

Just getting out of the starting area has you back track so many times. It was a bit tedious getting to hyrule field.

Sorry my title is unclear. I’m playing it for the first time since I played it for the first time at launch. So second time 😂😂

I’m playing the hd remaster on cemu. But info have my original wiiu, it’s just in a different country at the moment.

What’s the recommended way to play MM? I only ever played it on the 64, but I’m debating between the n64 app on the switch and the 3ds version through emulation.

I’m playing Twilight Princess for the first time since launch.
I played this game back when it released on Gamecube. I honestly have almost 0 memories of this game. I only kinda sorta remember a specific room or two and not even well enough to really explain them. I am not sure why I do not remember it very well. I remember Majora's mask much better and I had only played that once at launch as well. At this point, I have finished the first dungeon and it was pretty easy. I wonder if this game is just an easier game then modern zelda titles. Although, it seems like it is easier than Ocarina. At least so far. The enemies feel meatier. Like, they take more damage and don't bounce around as easily. I am not enjoying it as much as I thought i would, but I am going to stick with it. I kinda want to play through the 3d zelda games again. I keep trying Majora's mask and then putting it down before I even leave the starting town. I am playing on a PC, but I'd much rather use a steam deck to play as I do not often sit at my PC unless I am working.

Steam as it’s more straightforward to running it on Linux.

I bought cyberpunk on gog and it’s just a bit more work to get it installed and running.

If possible, I’d exchange it for a steam copy.

I did not do a deep dive but it looks like it might be a way to access usenet.

That’s taking it to the extreme, but I can emulate switch with no problem using. An rx 470 4gb model. That’s like under $100.

I can’t emulate Xbox 1 at all.

I hope they done, typically Nintendo systems are able to be emulated on mediocre hardware 😂😂

Thanks for summarizing this for me. I think I could just use a vpn and librewolf to accomplish what you are talking about with the tor browser.

Librewolf wipes everything once it’s closer and it pretty basic if you use the default settings.

Are people using it to casually browse Lemmy and stuff?

I’ve hear something similar. I think I read that the US Air Force has a bunch of nodes or something.

Additionally I don’t really understand what I would use it for if I already have a vpn and how it might put me a risk of legal trouble if I’m using it and someone routes something bad through me while I’m using it…

I’m not even sure how to talk about it.

I am decently technical, I just don’t know this tech.

I think they blocked European users from using a vpn to access it. Maybe that was part of the reason. Someone else said that it might be the algorithm, but honestly, mastodon doesn’t have that and it’s a great community.

Looks like someone shared the link. I recently quit YouTube as it was terrible for my mental health. I was staying up all night on YouTube shorts and just feeling super burned out all the time.

There is someone who has this job that makes YouTube shorts about it.

She is really professional and talk about some of the things they do to keep it from being weird and they pay a lot of attention to the actors comfort level around the whole thing.

Seems like this is something that’s done well.

How long until we can a browser extension that lets us know when we are on a site written by AI?

I don’t mean AI detection, but instead, sites that announce they are laying off editors in favor of AI.

I see a possibility where these sites eventually become terrible and there is a new person can come in and make content made by humans.

I’ve played Skyrim a lot and didn’t level any of those skills. I played so much that I just crawled the map and tried to complete every quest. There is a good chance that I did, but I could have missed one or two. I never knew about the huskies though.

Replaying Final Fantasy VIII(man the battles are long)
This game was my first jrpg as a kid. Well after Mario rpg and Pokémon. But I guess it always classified it different as it was a more serious game. I was really young so it’s cool to play it now and better understand the story. But I did not remember the battles being so long. It seems that every encounter so far has been a really long experience. I just graduated seed training, so not to far into the remake. Im not worried about spoilers as I’ve played through this game when it was new, and watched a speed run of it a few years ago.

I agree with you 100%. Everything bout the first game was executed perfectly.

Katamari Damacy and Katamari Damacy 2
I just played through Katamari 2 on the switch, but I played it way back on PS2. I always like Katamari 1 better. Katamari 2 tried a lot of new things, like keeping the katamari on fire by continuously rolling things up, or trying to roll it to a specific size. None of them were bad, but they were not particularly fun. Most importantly, the music from Katamari 1 is so much better. Those songs have been ingrained in my brain since I was a child. I still um/sing them around the house. After finishing Katamari 2, I booted up Katamari 1 and immediately it felt like the movement was a bit quicker. I think the next Katamari release was on the 360. I am not sure if that was the final release. I hope we get a remaster of it as I would like to see how it changed due to the increased power of that console generation.

Wow! Grandia emotionally hit me hard.
**Very Early Game Spoilers** I am playing Grandia 1 for the first time on the Switch and it hit me so hard when Justin moved away. For reference, I moved to another country when I was 30 and I have not returned to my home country since. The plan was to come back at some point, but I have built a life here and have been married to a local. My parents came out to visit recently and I talk to them a few times week, so it's not like it is some super sad story, but it was a tough part of the game to work through. I related to Justin so much and have been drawn in to this game so much due to the characters. I am still really early in this game. I just made it across the sea and look forward to becoming an adventurer. One thing that I find interesting about this game is that the style of the game and menus are like a mix of PS1 and SNES graphics. I guess this was an early PS1 game.
