I’ve been bitten before by these non standard things… thanks for the reminder.

Many indie games are PC only and are unlikely to ever be ported to a Nintendo platform – mostly because it’s a lot easier to play them on new PCs. As Nintendo products age, emulation can be one of the only ways the games stay playable.

This is very practical advice, thanks for the point in the right direction.

The problem is the motherboard has some blown caps and in general the system is not very stable as is.

From the other advice it sounds like I should get a used PC and just use a USB floppy drive if I ever need one.

Advice Requested: 2006 pc upgrade
My first PC ever built is sort of unusable in its current state, and there are a few things I could do: - Update necessary parts and keep it as a retro-media-compatible PC/nas/server. I love how it has a floppy drive! - Get rid of it and save money If I wanted to replace it, I would need to get at minimum: - motherboard - ram - CPU I'm hoping I can keep using the following parts, some of which have been updated over the years: - pcie 2.0 graphics card - 500 W power supply - monitor / peripherals - optical / floppy drives - SSD / HDD - ATX case (the original case and motherboard PCI slots never lined up quite correctly...) Cooler Master centurion (?) I've never done anything like this, and last time I built a PC was in 2006. I lack a lot of knowledge... 1. Is my case likely to be compatible with a modern motherboard? 2. Can I buy a modern motherboard/CPU that will be compatible with this other stuff? 3. Would it be less expensive to buy another used PC and use its motherboard/CPU ?

You have different definitions of “political”

In my country at least, there are differences of opinion about whether queer people can exist in public, use the bathroom, etc., and the people in power are endangering everyone. So pride is very much political.

Thanks! Yeah I just realized it is back up. It was taken off a few days ago, though, and I’m still curious why.

It also appears to be abandoned, and pro accounts do not verify:

What happened to JuiceSSH?
I really liked this SSH client, but I can't find it on the play store and I can't find any recent news. Does anyone know why it was taken down? Edit: it's back up now, sorry for not checking. But it was down earlier this week when I was trying to install it. Would still like to know what happened, if it wasn't a random Google problem.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. The narrator was my favorite part. That or the music.

Huh, interesting. I finished one tournament, and I felt like that was the end. I didn’t realize there was more story if you kept going.

I really liked the story and interactive novel parts of it. The sports ball part was alright as variety, but the rest of the game was the best part.

Hades was really hard for me too, and I played upwards of 100+ runs before beating [redacted], and another bunch before finally turning on God mode, where I think I got up to about 20% damage reduction before it stabilized.

At this point I want to push the story forward (I’m in the epilogue) but I’ve already played so much I need to wait more for the battling to be fun again.

It was really groundbreaking to have the narrator react to what you were doing, in a “Half-Life feels like a real world that you inhabit” way. The way the music was woven into the game was also amazing, and the art! There’s a reason it put them on the map.

I didn’t like the gameplay all that much though and the world building didn’t make too much sense to me. These parts have aged the most poorly. But it was way better than just marketing.

Why do a decent thing when you have money on your side

Yeah, but it’s evergreen. Loads of people haven’t played it or finished it, or were even born when it came out, and might be learning about it just now.

For me the gameplay was kinda meh and actually frustrating at times, but the way it tells the story was so nice and so perfectly fit the mechanics, that made it worth it. So I guess think twice about a “fun fact” with no spoiler tag that gives away something so important for enjoying the game.

Bungie used to have culture.

Weird, sometimes cringe culture in hindsight. But they used to be cool.

I don’t know what happened but it was probably the search for more money instead of making something they could be proud of.

Thanks I’m glad I already played it before reading this incredible spoiler
