I know it sounds like I’m saying they’re really well played, play them to death, but I’m not. I’m saying that the amount of games isn’t the problem, the problem is pointless congestion. I believe Arteta mentioned that perhaps we should enlarge the squads if we’re playing this many games.

I don’t know. Football is without a doubt a high intensity job, but these players are incredibly well compensated despite only having to do half a days work for the majority of their days. Compare that with someone who works in IT and is on call? Or a nurse and their weekly twelve hour shifts.

I definitely think scheduling can and should be improved, but not because of fixture congestion or them playing too many games, but because football exists because of fans and sometimes we go a week without a game or have a couple weeks worth of untelevised games. What we need is fixture consistency.

They can give Everton an immediate reduction but not Manchester City

The community could definitely do with people like you on staff. You have ideas about how you’d like to see things move forward, that’s important.

Things still pinned from three months ago. None of the matches or goals from the weekend posted. It just seems like a bit of a ghost town.

They’re expanding. If they go ahead with their plans, they’ll become the second highest capacity stadium in the UK.

There’s too much on .world, it’s good to spread things out a bit.

Grounds with the biggest capacity in the UK
In wake of the Saint James' Park news, here is a list of the top ten football grounds with the largest capacity in the UK, in order of decreasing capacity: | Rank | Stadium | Capacity | Club(s) | Image | |---|---|---|---|---| | 1 | Wembley Stadium | 90,000 | England national team |[Image of Wembley Stadium] | | 2 | Old Trafford | 74,310 | Manchester United |[Image of Old Trafford] | | 3 | Tottenham Hotspur Stadium | 62,850 | Tottenham Hotspur |[Image of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium] | | 4 | London Stadium | 62,500 | West Ham United |[Image of London Stadium] | | 5 | Emirates Stadium | 60,704 | Arsenal |[Image of Emirates Stadium] | | 6 | Etihad Stadium | 53,494 | Manchester City |[Image of Etihad Stadium] | | 7 | Anfield | 53,394 | Liverpool |[Image of Anfield] | | 8 | St James' Park | 52,305 | Newcastle United |[Image of St James' Park] | | 9 | Celtic Park | 60,411 | Celtic |[Image of Celtic Park] | | 10 | Hampden Park | 51,866 | Scotland national team |[Image of Hampden Park] | These stadiums are all home to some of the biggest clubs in the UK, and they regularly host large crowds for both domestic and European matches. The atmosphere at these stadiums can be electric, and they are a great place to experience the passion of English football.

How do you all feel this will impact your upcoming season? Where do you think you’ll finish?

I think all the football communities should come together and create an instance. LemmyFC.fans or LemmyFC.sport (since .football is already registered) or something like that. Then football fans will find it easier to find their teams and related communities.

During the developer AMA the other day, they said it only costs $10 a month to host Lemmy.ml. If the admins from the club communities came together and put $1-2 a month it could easily work. As it got more and more popular, I’m sure donations would come in.

But I think, especially on .world, it’s hard find all the football communities. You only need to look at https://fanaticus.social/ to see how successful it can and should be and football is way bigger than NFL.

Defense has been a massive issue for you lot for a couple years now, hopefully you finally get it sorted.

BTW, not sure if you know about it but there’s a Tottenham community here: [email protected]

We’ll have to wait and see. Obviously I don’t want you to be too successful, given that we’re rivals.

But also note, Madrid are in a massive amount of debt. I can’t remember the name, but the previous King liked to write-off their debt and so a certain way of life was established in Spain. Times change and they no longer have that debt being written off every so often, however they kept spending more than they were making and eventually accrued just shy of 1 billion debt. This is one of the reasons they pushed for the Super League, because if the Financial Fair Play rules were ever applied properly, they’d be chucked out of everything.

Anyway long story short, Madrid and Mbappé thought he could join them this summer, but PSG want more than they anticipated and Madrid are unwilling to offload talent to make it happen. Now he can either go to Saudi Arabia or Manchester City and he prefers to wait the extra year.

He wanted to go to Madrid this year. Madrid would’ve had to sell some talent but people only wanted their good stuff, so they decided to wait a year.

I just noticed your instance. It’s my first time seeing a Brazilian instance. Thank you!

But I think you’re being overly optimistic. He can play off of somebody, but I don’t think he can lead the line.
