I haven’t looked into DLSS 5 but previous versions required lots of compute to train a model for each specific title, additionally Microsoft and Nvidia may have certain agreements to further the adoption of AI processors that could be used for data harvesting features like Microsoft recall

Nvidia is a company that sells chips

Microsoft is a company better on the future of software running on those chips

It’s a big conflict of interest

Remember that Bethesda is owned by Microsoft who wants to increase adoption of this technology for their own financial gain

Fun fact companies worse than meta regularly buy and sell shares and options in pretty much everything

This isn’t popping, the software industry is completely changing. The enterprise versions of these tools are superior to most humans. We’re all fucked, this is worse than the bubble popping. This is employment popping.

Ah yes the daily grind tries to suck the life out life but we must not permit it

I thought the same until one ram stick died this week, it’s apparently now $1200 for a replacement

I don’t think it’s fair to call that the same game considering it got put in the bin and started over, whilst they are also building a second game first

There are many different loops, though it is a sandbox game. The narrative story is being written at the moment if that’s what you’re after

I’m in the same boat, e.g. the phone stores the entire season of what I am watching and then I copy from the USB C device the next season or whatever it is. USB is plugged in infrequently despite being the source for much of what I am accessing

If read is terrible it might be due to having atime writes turned on, or just a bad card. Usually read is better than write. What filesystem?

UHS II micro SD cards operate at 312MB/s

That’s pretty good… It’s like double a typical HDD read speed

Is the pixel 9a not in budget there? Can you expand on why you don’t want a pixel, is it purely budgetary?

Future versions of Steam will run on 64-bit versions of Windows only.

Finally sounds like some plans to make the steam client 64bit

At least you can easily run 32 bit applications on 64 bit operating systems and hardware without performance penalty

AMD Advanced Micro Devices

VLK Vulkan

RADV Radeon Vulkan

RADV is the open source community driver everyone uses. AMDVLK was the official AMD open source driver rarely anyone used

Was wondering when this would finally happen, thought it was going to happen years ago
