Both CPU’s are for production work, not games. If a person is not rendering any files through Adobe programs or multimedia editing, only play games on computers, both CPU’s are a waste of money, especially 9950x3D. Buy a 9950x for production work. For games, stick with Core Ultra 7 or Ryzen 7 x3D.

Linux will never catch on to the home users. It’s a schizophrenic system. The difference between Debian, Arch, and Fedora, is like saying Windows 7 programs can not be installed on Windows 10, nobody will ever talk about Windows 10.

One tip if you truly want people you know to install Linux, learn how to do all of the configuration and maintaintence through SSH. If you are available at anytime to SSH and look at something, that would open up a few people willing to try. For example if someone calls you and says they want a program,you SSH in, type the command to install the program, and tell them it will be listed in the menu in a minute when it’s dine

I view upscaling as giving a developers a cop out for not having to optimize games, as well as an admission of noting capable of enginner gaming GPU’s that can do 4K ultra path tracing 165fps.

I’m also getting suspiciois that AAA+ games are dismissing original wring and story development to replace with flashy graphics and then sell it on how good the game looks. Indie studies don’t have the budget for upscalling, no 6 year old games from anybody has upscaling, I find it to be more of a gimmick than a solution. Nobody plays a game 4 years after release because of how good the game looks for grahics.

Intel needs to design 1 Core Ultra 9 and 1 Core Ultra 7 that is entirely made of P-cores, zero E-cores on the physical die, and watxh how much better those sell compared to all of the other ones.

Even though Intel isn’t the fastest, the mix of having 2 different architectures designs with P-cores being from one design and E-cores being of a different architecture, it is affecting people’s experience.

Intel can still compete against AMD 8-core non-x3D, but not with e-cores in the mix. For systems that run on on-board graphics from APU and will never have an nVidia/Radeon GPU installed, Intel rules all.

What’s crippling Intel is their obsession on sales figures for stock market price and not raw performance to maintain mindshare. Oh, and leave a new CEO in power for a minimum of at least 5+ years to seeing the very beginning of the fruits of their work. Nothing gets fixed in 2 years. In took AMD 10 years to take Intel’s sales and now Intel is falling off, that shows that the problem isinternal, and not due to competition. That’s going to be a mass amount of porting. I’m not confident they can do it due to the difference in architecture and instruction sets. RISC V is a bit behind ARM for performance, and then to translate to Ryzen, I say that they are being too ambitious.

CPU is not quite as critical for 1440p under 120fps. At 4K the CPU is almost irrelevent. There will be a difference from CPU but single but not a visual difference if it’s at least on Haswell or Coffee Lake

A PCI-E 4.0x8 GPU in a 3.0 motherboard slot will run the GPU at 3.0x8 speeds.

The 4060 and Ti is PCI-E 4.0x8 which equals PCI-E 3.0x16.

If base 5060 comes in PCI-E 5.0x16, that means it runs at full speed. I would buy that as a gift for someone.

If they run in PCI-E 5x16 and not x8, they will be a noticable upgrade over 4060.

All games work in 11. You will get the best picture quality for graphics on 11. More DX9 games work in 11 than worked in 10. Path tracing is best on 11. I have some games that are DVD installs, no game store launcher.

There are different Linux programs that address most Windows issues but not all. With Windows, you can install Win 11, install GPU driver, and start playing games. I do avoid using Steam due to their extortion, so eventually I find games that can’t run on Linux.

Intel should add a top processor for each Core Ultra level without e-cores and watch how those sell. Yes, AMD is whipping them on performance, but having 2 architectures together is not helping. Make 3 processors without any e-cores in the die.

Everybody can ignore AMD and skip the 9070 XT for $700, there’s no value. Wait 3 months and buy the 5070 Ti or a 5070. The 9070 XT needs to be $500 to build brand ID so people will spend money on it, and 9070 for $400.

I said before that if the raytracing ultra performance without FSR matches or slightly beats the $750 5070 Ti without DLSS, the 9070 XT needs to be priced lower than $550 5070 or people will not buy Radeon.

Yeah, I’m giving it 2 to 3 years to see what major improvements are made to RISC V.
