For me, I wanted to play it for a long time, finally had the time during the holiday break. I played the Shadow of the Colossus last year, so this year it’s ICO. Pretty happy with the PCSX2 emulator.

With ICO, I think it pays off to take it slow. I actually beat it three times now, I think. On my first play through I would often just pause and let the views sink in. It felt so magical for me.

Btw, there is a pretty cool speed run of the game by sanchopanda on GDQ

Agreed, nothing beats looking up a text code to jump to a section

Huh. I’d expect the evolution of consoles to speed up

Love games from that generation. Maybe it’s my age but that era feels really special

Are there any rumors it might go down? Looks alive and well.

New guide on Ico dropped on Gamefaqs
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps3/632823-ico/faqs/81063 I hope this is relevant for the community. In a bizarre coincidence I finished Ico this week (for the very first time, and... what an experience) and, of course, went to Gamefaqs to see what I missed on the first play through. To my huge surprise, there was a new guide, added just a few days back. The guide is on the language of Yorda, kind of similar to some of the previous work done, but a nice addition nonetheless. Really impressed that people are still writing guides on a 20+ year-old game.

It’s certainly heading in that direction

Given the criticism of Fandom, why not use a Piped link instead of YT? It’s like criticizing YT on YT.

Unfortunately this kills off all the hobbies, not just gaming. And your free time(

Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Such an epic soundtrack. Listened to it countless times. Micheal McCann did an amazing job.

I agree, but I would say the story was central to gluing everything together. I don’t know if I would have been as invested as I was if it was a worse story and just great puzzles. So now I wonder what they are going to do story-wise. Still, I’m more excited about this than another Serious Sam =) btw, the most hidden mechanic I learned was that you can use a 3rd person view, which I preferred much more than 1st person

Wow, did not expect it. I am torn now. The original felt self-contained, compete, the story ended properly. Can they really continue the story in a compelling way? Or are they making an alternative story unrelated to the original? I loved the OG so much, I hope they won’t screw it up.

Recommendations for good YT channels exploring lore and stories
Can you guys recommend some good channels? I am watching Gingy occasionally, but I find his style a bit too dry. Edit: thanks to everyone for sharing your suggestions! I will check them out!

Also tried it from Germany, didn’t show at all. Connected to the US, cleared cookies, shows up. Weird, but works

Quantic Dream makes pretty good story-driven games. People have recommended Detroit, but earlier games are also worth checking out, like Beyond: Two Souls
