This is a weird expectation if you have seen the trailers. She is clearly being propped up as a good guy smuggler. She does a whole bit about freedom and getting out of the crime game.
The gMe is going to be absolutely shit, so please don’t go providing false hype hopes to people.
This game needs to fail, or we will be looking at $100 minimum game purchases in 5 years.
Sounds like you want to change topics from your whole lies bit for some reason? Weird. Changing your defense from it being lies and a limited resource while not admitting the predatory nature of this game design. I dont care to argue your new bad faith points as you did not take the last stance fairly. I can’t stand predatory microtransactions. The arrogance of people who don’t care about it invading the game just allow further shit like this to fester.
I guess if we’re changing topics, we can focus on the predatory character customization microtransaction. They locked any new saves or character creation to limit people to a microtransaction. That’s pretty fucked up too.
Or we can go into Capcoms’ recent attempts to take down mods from their old games. https://readwrite.com/capcom-backtracks-quickly-and-removes-drm-after-players-rebel/
There are plenty of problematic things to hit on here.
Have you tried to turn a circle in the main city on low settings?
Except having limited access to a resource is from the original game.
The original game that ultimately saw success in its “Dark Arisen” release that had an eternal ferrystone.
Don’t go trying to redefine history here, I played both copies of the original.
There’s this lie being sold online that it was an intentional decision for DD2 to try and sell more microtransactions, but limited fast travel is a hallmark of the original Dragon’s Dogma.
There is no lie in the complaints. Ferrystones are not a limited resource in Dragons Dogma 2. You just have to pay microtransactions for it. You are lying about the game to defend it. To me, this level of denial comes off as coping.
I want you to admit that ferrystones are not a limited resource in Dark Arisen and same with Dragons dogma 2. And I want you to admit the differences in how they are offered to the player.
Or go lie to somebody else.
Having limited access to a resource to then hook you on microtransactions is from mobile game design. It’s literally a freemium mechanic being put into an already upscaled price game.
It’s one of the most abusive and addictive ways to develop a game, and you want to portray that positively.
I fucking hate gamers. We’ve been having this conversation since the horse Armor DLC for Oblivion yet here we fucking are.
Portcrystals are not the same thing as ferrystones and are useless without them.
You are speaking from ignorance.
They give you some ferrystones in the game as well, but it is artificially limited to force microtransactions into a single-player game. It literally goes against the design of the game.
Lmao, I’m talking to a person who couldn’t name a single one of Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps, Babe Ruth, Messi, Usain Bolt, Muhammid Ali, etc… let’s do some less top athletes and just drop some athlete names I can do off the top of my head: Brett Farve, Manning, Mike Tyson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Williams sisters,
I’ll probably try to think of more later.
then, I don’t think you can be considered a trustworthy input on this topic. That says so much more about you than anything else.
It’s such a monumentally clueless statement about the world around you. I would be embarrassed to out myself as that clueless on physical fitness. This is all coming from a guy who never watched sports, except maybe in high school a decade+ ago.
No shit I told you I don’t recognize the name I said I didn’t recognize. I’ve followed video games and worked in video game development for 25+ years. I was establishing how far you were fishing for 3 recognizable names, even amongst would be experts on the subject.
Yea, I don’t trust your input. It feels better to assume you wrote that comment in bad faith rather than out of cluelessness.
This was an ironic read for me. Your examples really solidified the opposite of your point for me. People can name their top 20 favorite offensive linemen in football. You had an entire industry and thought of 3 names that most people even within the fandoms would fail to recognize.
Who even is concerned Ape?
What an ironic point to make with 0 context.
Nintendo is the original gacha / lootbox developer. You must not remember their original big money maker was selling randomized packs of collectible cards to children, a practice they are still perfecting to this day.
Nintendo has 10x the market share of any other gacha game too, so even if others are more exploitative, they aren’t causing as much overall damage due to market share.
Yes, I am acknowledging that in my comment. I’m saying I don’t understand how people stomach this garbage, and I stated the specifics of what I found so repulsive in the co sumption of their products.
Where is the insult here? I called yall out after yall trash talked first. Yall start shit but don’t like it when it is addressed.
You need something to whatabout because you can’t address the points directly. Childish response that fits the childish fanbase of Nintendo perfectly.
The only game developers that are anywhere in the same running as Nintendo on Anticonsumer practices would be EA, Ubisoft, and Warner Brothers. Maybe arguably Playstation and Xbox.
Literally any other game developer could be listed as a favorite game series and avoid most of the criticisms I’ve laid out.
Idk how people still stomach Nintendo. They get 1 decent exclusive every other year, while the rest of the time, they are overcharging for all their garbage products. Most anticonsumer, anticompetition developer on the market that releases products that lag behind the rest of the industry by 5-10 years.
They crush emulation and antique game preservation sites as a hobby.
How is yet another Mario game worth coming back to?
It’s a dumb point because there is no console that beats having a PC.
Are you seriously suggesting a handful of 40 hour single player experiences is worth sacrificing: full backwards compatability, emulation of all old consoles and games, Mods, games that can’t be adapted to the limitations of consoles (grand strategy, certain MMO’s), cheaper sales and key sites, as well as inevitably having access to the exclusives from all platforms
The only path for console developers to win over customers is through cheap hardware, which doesn’t win over any PC users who have better rigs.
Your point is bad at making any real point. You basically just spoke around the topic then blamed everybody else for not understanding lmao.
A lot of the most heavily advertised games are the ones people wouldn’t play without addiction models or whaling hooks, ones that require marketing to get people on board.
I’ve been pretty insulated from ads for a good bit (by design) but what is that meme one again? Raid Shadow Legends?
