How is this news? This news the plan all along, they were quite vocal about it. Free to play games are always funded by mtx.

I know this is an unpopular opinion here but I think the game looks dope, having followed development since the beginning. The animations look sick and I’m always there for another skateboarding game. I just won’t buy any skins.

I know right. Elden Ring looks so damn good but there’s no way I can get into it at that playtime.

I dunno. I game less and less every year. I think I’ll probably just play the odd n64 game by the time I retire.

Yeah thps 1+2 is a remaster of the first two games that came out a few years ago. It’s actually quite good and about 100x better than thpshd which came out a few years before that (also a remaster of the first few games).

I’m guessing the countdown is for a remaster of a later game or games in the series.

Yeah. A PC “console” brings so much value since “backward compatibility” isn’t even really a thing. Pretty much all games just work, even older console exclusives via emulation. I can’t imagine upgrading my pc and having to repurchase a game with “HD” graphics.

But it’s so much more than CPU. GameCube and Wii have the same CPU, but are possibly the most different in the list.

Gameboy color was a huge change at the time. It was smaller (about the same size as the pocket) and playing color games was a novelty: that was Game Gear’s main selling point.

As for GBA/SP, yeah they’re super similar but the form factor is quite different.

It’s actually incredible how good Linux is, and it’s entirely free. No ads, no bullshit, just a rock solid OS. It’s staggering how small a proportion of people use it.

I thought Spotify gave shite royalties.

I prefer over the shoulder games like GTA with keyboard mouse and controller.

Controller for general navigation and when a firefight starts to go down, my right hand switches to the mouse and my left hand is still on the controller, resting on the desk. When the firefight starts getting hectic the controller gets dropped and it’s WASD from there on out.

Yeah, that’s a good point but I am very skeptical that Nintendo roms are going to be lost forever. Some of the popular sites are getting hit, but this has been happening for decades. Soon enough there will be a new site that makes it easy, and there will always be Usenet and private trackers that are far more robust.

While this is true I would recommend choosing just a few of your favourite games from each console, in which case you can probably fit your all time fav games from every Nintendo console on a 256gb SD card, and probably a 32GB for all you faves pre Wii.

As someone who has an overwhelmingly large ROM library, I often find I have nothing to play because my library is too large.

Because their games are so good. There is no denying that Mario games are incredible platformers with super tight controls and any Zelda game is going to be a good adventure at the very least.

That’s why pirate then, anyways.

I feel conflicted by how excited I am for a F2P game from EA… but damn this is going to be fun. Skate 3 on RPCS3 is still my go-to game.

I am so bad at this game lol

Yeah I don’t think our firewall would allow even that. Connections not on port 80 are blocked on almost all devices.

Cool thanks! I don’t think those options would work. The school I work at has a very strict firewall so I doubt ssh or vnc would work on our network.

I’m curious if it’s possible to connect either of these devices to hdmi?

There are many Linux communities just waiting to give you a welcoming high five. Why wait to be disappointed by MS?

I don’t think it’s possible to takedown a project that doesn’t use any proprietary code. You have to supply your own rom.

Yeah I loved it. Balled my eyes out on “that” episode.

I’ve tried playing that game a few times, but I’m ashamed to say that it is too scary for me lol

Can you just connect it to a screen and a kb/m?

Steam!

I would buy (and play) the heck out of Stray.

Have you ever needed to troubleshoot a software bug that only had discord as a place to look for help? It’s a complete disaster, and switching to Matrix, while better than discord in many ways, wouldn’t change the fact that it’s not good for software troubleshooting.

Chat programs are not ideal for software communities since so much of software discussion is built around troubleshooting. We should stop using discord and instead use forums with IRC channels built in. That way wikis can be built into the site, discussion about important topics is slower and well indexed, and the endless ranting/chatting can still be done but doesn’t take away from the topics that matter. What would be even better is if there were a fediverse style page that handled all of that, so you wouldn’t need multiple accounts fire various software packages.

If they finish working on PC support then they’ll have no problem clearing their stock.

I’d say check it out anyways, if you’re into retro gaming and/or programming and/or hardware. This guy is great. He was re-making portal for N64 and his dev vlog was fantastic. Eventually valve and Nintendo forced him to take it down (mostly Nintendo) so he’s moving on to other things like this.

Sure the thumbnail is obnoxious but if that’s his livelihood and that’s what it takes to get clicks, meh. I’d rather judge the video by its content than the thumbnail.

Oh wow. Well now I know which vr headset I will buy!
