It was fun! It was good take on the 4v1 genre and included characters from all eras of the Evil Dead franchise (except maybe the 2013 movie, I stopped playing before the updates finished.)
My least favorite part though was the progression was severely limited if you only played private matches with friends. My friends and I played for days and barely earned a few levels. We played one match against randoms and got tons of XP.
The Nitronic Rush soundtrack is some really awesome techno. It feels very Tron-esque at times.
All my friends that got into VR all said the same thing when I asked them why they don’t play it more- it’s all packed away and setting everything up again is more of a hassle than it’s worth. The Quest really just made things dead simple- no wire, no lighthouses, use anywhere there’s a little bit of space.
The screen thing is really overblown. Yes, there are technical analysis that point toward issues. However most people, including myself and several of my friends, don’t notice anything wrong in real life. Maybe if you’re an absolute snob about display tech you’ll notice something is off but that’s it.
If you are planning to play docked with family then the battery life isn’t really an issue.
If you are only going to use it for Switch 2 games then there’s no hurry to buy one now. There’s hardly any. But there’s a big catalog of fun Switch 1 games you can play on it that make it viable to buy now.
