Nice. I love Gboard. One of the few things Google nails.

Some small but useful OneUI features for you Samsung users’

  • Dual Bluetooth audio: Samsung devices can stream audio to 2 Bluetooth devices at the same time which is very cool when you have friends who want to listen in but don’t want to share earbuds. I use this very often.
  • One time passwords for wifi hotspot: Samsung devices can create a otp for hotspot that only works once and stops working the next time you turn on hotspot. Very useful feature that I use all the time too.
  • Bypass charging: If you game with your phone, search for game booster setting in advanced setting and turn on Pause USB PD charging to use bypass charging and save on battery health
  • Turn off UltraHDR: On OneUI 7, turn off SuperHDR in advanced setting to stop the screen from brightening whenever you scroll through an UltraHDR video (fuck you for this useless flashbang feature Google and fuck you Apple for defaulting to HDR recording)

I haven’t seen anyone mention Gboard yet so I’ll say Gboard. Best keyboard on Android.

My gotos for the last 3 years have been Spigen Ringke and Nilkin.

Some devices taper off their fast charging faster than others. It doesn’t have to be at 80%. Just as an example you can see the charts in the charging review for the S24 Ultra here: https://www.chargerlab.com/charging-review-of-samsung-s24-ultra/. A fun fact is that since Samsung 45W tapers off so much there isn’t much difference compared to their 25W charging. The difference is 10mins at best. Sometimes the 45W can be just a hair slower even.

I like Brave because it’s fast and smooth with great AdBlock and security.

Google and Samsung both have a track record of delivering updates even past the promised date so far.

Their phones are far too expensive and their software support is horrible.

The reader being under the screen makes the most sense in my opinion. It’s the part of the phone you touch the most. And speed is a non issue anymore. Ultrasonic sensors are about as fast if not faster than the old capacitive ones now. They’re also as accurate in my experience and after a while I’ve learned to put my finger exactly where it is so it’s a non issue. It also unlocks when my finger is wet unlike the older capacitive ones which is huge for me. So in conclusion I disagree. Fingerprint sensors should be in display and ultrasonic.

I’m using Samsung OneUI launcher now. It does most of what I needed Nova to do anyway.

No, you can only remove it with Goodlock now.

Aye, OP, check if you can find Goodlock on the Galaxy Store. Go into the “Life up” section on the Goodlock app and download Registrar. It should allow you to set either the back double /triple tap and/or a press and hold of the side button to take a screenshot, as shown here.

Haiya literally just finished studying for a statistics final so I went on Lemmy and the first post I see is more statistics =). Haha, anyway, great work!

It was a bug a while back. It went away, now it came back. It’s been here again for what? 1,2 months now? Actually, now that I think about it, it’s been an on and off bug ever since Android gained gesture navigation and the gesture bar LMAO.

That’s all fine and good but I need them to fix the battery drain first. It drains an insane amount of battery on Android. It drains more than games.

You should switch to AntennaPod.

Bootloader relocking is supported with an alternative OS on a Pixel. GrapheneOS supplies an avb custom key and they expect that you use their OS with a locked bootloader.

Yeah, they’ll work just fine. I don’t see why not, it’s just a Bluetooth connection.

Just don’t get a carrier variant and you’ll be fine. You can also check for sure by putting the device’s IMEI into https://store.google.com/repair. For example, here’s what mine says: Pixel 6 Pro Stormy Black 128GB (Unlocked) (Pristine)

Not in America. Dude, same. I get 2,3 spam calls a day, sometimes like 6. It’s so annoying.

Spigen/Caseology (sister brand) and Ringke are good ones for around 10-20$ US from my experience. On the higher end you can get DBrand grip I guess.

Apple’s 9 dollar dongle works pretty well for me. It’s actually really good for the price.

The 200ms difference is virtually unoticeable on a Pixel 6 Pro.

If you can’t use Play Store or get the app straight from the developer themselves, use Aurora Store or APKmirror. APKpure sucks.

There’s Project Sandcastle but it’s nowhere near ready and it looks like development has ceased.

Autocorrect has always worked pretty well for me so idk. I’ve heard about it getting worse but I haven’t seen it happen to me so far.

No, it’s a Pixel exclusive feature but you can probably find it on a custom OS like Pixel Experience or something.

YMMV honestly. It depends on where you live. If your city is mapped out well, OsmAnd+ will work for you. For me, unfortunately Google Maps still works far far better than anything else I’ve tried :(

Oh that is nice. Finally! Bye bye undismissable notifications!

What was the point of this article? What was going through the writer’s head as they wrote this article? Is there an approval process for these articles to be published? If so who approved this article? What was going through their head?

There’s a flipper zero in the vicinity haha. They can emulate fast pair devices and spam your phone with connection popups.

Minecraft was probably among the best 25$ I’ve ever spent. So many fun hours just messing around with friends.

Seems like Xiaomi is heavily clamping down on bootloader unlocking in China. Global versions also have a new restriction: no updates without locked bootloader.

Just checking, am I missing any Lemmy apps? My goal is to try them all. I'm mainly using Liftoff at the moment.
