Far/ting
Don’t talk to me unless you’re an alien, a time traveler, an esper or if your avatar is also Haruhi Suzumiya
Bethesda was under no obligation to talk to these mod devs beforehand. But it sure makes them look bad. As a recent comparable, Concerned Ape was open and communicative with all the mod devs before releasing his latest patch for Stardew Valley, a game that is just about as old as Fallout 4.
Bethesda has become a literal laughingstock at this point in time and it’s just funny to point at them every time they rack up another L.
I love when I try to explain things to people and provide information, they just cherry pick through the facts to only affirm their previous biases.
This is the sentence before your quote in the Wiki article:
The hypothetical person lacking a sense of humour would likely find the behaviour to be inexplicable, strange, or even irrational.
That’s you.
Here’s a picture since you don’t seem to understand words:
Joke
You
Do you get it, since the joke went over your head.
I’ll explain everything in this comments section.
Top level comment talks about how the voice actor gets paid 100 Euros per word.
Next commenter makes a dumb joke comment (no it’s eight and teen) that probably sHoULd hAvE beEN wRiTTeN likE tHis to get the point across. That’s the wordplay.
Then the next people to remark on that comment literally come in and act offended that someone didn’t know the word 18, as the joke flew over their big dumb heads. (Linking the dictionary link for eighteen, “hurr durr being wrong isn’t inherently funny”). I responded to the first guy with the Wiki link to Humour because wow, some of y’all need to lighten up and stop being pedantic twits.
Then after that some smug guy comes in and moves the goal post to “no we just didn’t think the joke was funny.”
Someone told me this a week ago and I think it’s a perfect summary of what happened:
disliking cyberpunk is an opinion people who don’t form opinions have. I’m sure there are people who had glaring technical issues ruin their playthrough and that’s fair. But for most of them it’s just a fear of clowns/ hatred of pineapple pizza mouth sound they can make.
I have been playing Phantom Liberty a lot. I’ve enjoyed it more than Starfield and BG3.
Before PL came out, I had started playing Sea of Stars. But it was extremely difficult to get into. Besides the S+++ tier pixel art, I thought the writing was poor: boring characters, bad dialogue, bad worldbuilding all made worse by slow pacing. I am gonna revisit this game sometime in the future I guess, though I don’t understand its appeal yet.
Also I played Armored Core 6 for a few minutes and died to the tutorial mission helicopter like 10 times in a row. I guess some people find that fun, lol.
I hope you’re asking in good faith. I’ll try and give you a response as tl;dr as possible here.
Racism: hating people due to their ethnicity
Not racism: criticizing people (even of a single nationality or ethnicity) because of their politics
In the context of this article, most people in the comments are expressing privacy concerns over China controlling a larger percentage of the gaming market, and thus increasing the risk for demanding more data from the users installing that software on their machines. If anyone here were expressing racist concerns about this, people would be making disparaging remarks about yellow skin color or narrow eye shape, or something like that.
Furthermore, incorrectly identifying racism where there is none actually detracts from the actual anti-racist sentiment - in fact, the one I believe you hold - by muddying the definition of what is and isn’t actually racism.
Lol the same thing happened to me the first time I tried it.
I went to the assigned area, chatted with the quest NPC, then I wanted to just murder all the hostiles in the area, so I went to find a good sniping spot… and then the quest failed because I left the area. RIP that NPC, RIP Phantom Liberty.
It just wasn’t that good. Not terrible, but very bland. I put 30 hours in but finally stopped when I realized I wasn’t having fun, I was only chasing the idea of fun.
I don’t even like DND and I thought BG3’s first act put the entire story of Starfield to shame.
Now I’m playing through Phantom Liberty and loving the hell out if it.
