I regularly dock my Deck and run games at 1080p or even 2160p on my TV so there’s still a use case for Deck owners.

My guess it’s to test out what they’re building for TESVI by getting a smaller studio to test it out in something they’ve already got design docs and scripts for.

I’m sure Fallout London feel the same way too!

I completely agree with you! But I am worried they’ll get overshadowed by Bethesda/Microsoft’s marketing budget…

They’ve gotta push hard because the official Oblivion remake in Unreal is supposedly due out sometime in 2025.

You can tell how bad it was for developers when even Sega Technical Institute moved Sonic X-treme development off 32X to Saturn and then, after the designer and programmer basically had mental breakdowns, they cancelled it entirely.

I agree with you, Saturn would have been fine if developers had the time to learn the architecture and if Sega hadn’t pulled the launch forward by 6 months by surprise.

I feel so sorry for all those devs who started work on things for the CD or 32X to totally find them defunct before they were able to release their games.

Dreamcast didn’t kill them, it was the Mega-CD, 32X, and Saturn that killed them. Launching three architectures over three years and not giving them space and focus burned a lot of political capital with developers (including those in house) and consumers. By the time the Dreamcast was out, it was already too late.

Which is a shame. Dreamcast was a masterpiece and so ahead of its time.

What made it so special and unique? I missed out on it back in the day and it feels a little late to try and solo it (if that’s even possible).

Titanfall 2 sold like shit yet that’s one of the best single player campaigns and multiplayers in years.

That blew my mind at the time. I replay it every few years and it still brings so much joy. If only they still made games like that!

What’s the state of the game right now? Is the AI working etc? I’ve been holding off until the game stabilises before I pick it up.

And the mad part is I regularly find Windows games run better on Linux though Proton than on Windows directly - and my Windows partition is only for gaming (no other crap installed)!

Same. Meta spyware on my face has never piqued my interest but Valve can headcrab the fuck out of me.

Deckard is rumoured to be the standalone VR headset (Steam Deck on your face).

Roy is rumoured to be the VR controllers.

Steam Controller 2 is the second coming of Jesus or something.

Palworld is awesome fun but let’s be honest, there’s plenty of jank, inconsistencies, and bland mechanical design throughout the game. Doesn’t stop it from being fun (and my partner and I putting hundreds of hours into the game) but is it award worthy? Probably not.

Story generators. Best kind of games, in my opinion. It’s truly amazing how the interconnection between numerous systems can result in totally unexpected and memorable experiences no scripted game could provide.

Live service? More like dead service. Am I right, guys? I’ll see myself out.

Have you tried enabling and opening the developer console and changed the sv_friction value to something higher than the default of 4? Perhaps 6? Might get rid of the sliding of the character movement and help with your motion sickness.

No no no, OP told us it’s been ages now so we’re in the “dogmatically apathetic” stage, right before “crywank”.

This is how you celebrate and maintain a legacy but well loved game. I still remember booting the game up for the first time on release day (after hours and hours of downloading haha, boy did Steam suck but look at where it is now).

What CEO would publicly acknowledge they did a shoddy job and missed a huge profit opportunity, putting their job on the line.

They still totally dropped the ball on this one. Especially since the big thing they did do is fuck mods by updating the engine and fucked Fallout London in the process. Muppets.

It’s clearly appealing to children and it’s not quite the holidays yet. I’m sure it’s on a fair few presents lists though.

Love your posts and your little insights and review you share with the screenshots. Thanks for sharing!

Hopefully it does well! They must be so excited to be working on their own IP. They’ve worked on plenty of solid and successful games so they’ve had plenty of experience.

This will be Double Eleven’s first full game, no? They’ve either been porting or supporting other teams so far as I can tell.

This is actually why I use macOS at work - I wasn’t able to get a Linux box approved by IT but they happily support macOS and I get to use basically all the same software I do on Linux.

All that money and engineering to have a human still needed to do the job of a human lol.

MIT still has copyright attribution which means you don’t own it, just have lots and lots of rights. You own the code, but you don’t own the name etc.

MIT-0 is public domain, there is no copyright by the creators, that right is assigned to all of us. You own that content and idea. It’s why anyone can use Sherlock Holmes and do anything they want with the character as he’s public domain. You don’t have to call him Schmerlock Hoves.

But yeah, for all intents and purposes to the thread, you’re right. MIT etc you can sell the code/binaries so gives you practical ownership.
