This is what we get when politicians write technical laws without asking experts how it actually would work in practice and possible ramifications.

Lawmakers:

I want to say it was a clause of the FCC’s Fairness Doctrine, wherein newscasters were legally required to present information on events and political matters as unbiased as possible on publicly-issued airwaves. It lost a lot of its steam when cable became commonplace, as cable networks were technically closed-circuit systems, and then it went out the door with the internet. On top of which, stations like Fox News claiming to be entertainment and not news stations helped their cause. The original idea was that if the FCC was to grant you a broadcast license, you were obliged to operate in the interest of the public, and the doctrine expressly forbade operating for personal gain.

Alright how about ethics laws. Make knowingly lying or blatant dishonesty a felony.

Yeah I’m with you on the display, especially with a docking laptop. I just kinda fell into it without much searching around, I’m sure there are more user friendly clients out there but it works just fine for my usage and I honestly don’t have time or energy to go on the hunt for the perfect client lol

It took me a sec to get the hang of it, but I’m good with Thunderbird

Um I disagree. The biggest barrier is having the capital to do the thing. I think a number of states have a reduced/free option if your income is below the poverty line (calculated as having low or negative income in the startup phase, not necessarily based on assets), or being lucky enough to have a spouse with healthcare. That said, it’s entirely doable to go without healthcare, albeit risky. I started a contracting company 3 years ago with almost no money and the tools I had from my apprentice/jman years, and still don’t have health insurance, though I’m hoping to get some later this year.

Sure but that’s only a piece of the puzzle. Housing, food, and general living costs are so insane now that any decent savings would be obliterated much more quickly. UBI would be a better solution here, but that’s almost a pipedream at this point.

If that becomes the case and you don’t want to see it, block it. Easy enough.

You’re also not required to get liability insurance on an ebike (for now)

US variant Samsungs have been locked down tighter than Fort Knox (heh) since the Galaxy 4 or 5 iirc.

Better yet, use an overwrite script to help turn their training models to jelly

Yeah I can understand surge charging during peak periods to reduce demand on their drivers, but this is a whole new level of predatory. And you know damn well the driver likely isn’t seeing any extra cash from it.

Modern day adaptation of a much older term.

Note: don’t look up boobtube at work lol

Or have a display case but keep the new, unopened copies behind the counter or in the back?

Because it makes the fat cats even richer, they couldn’t give less of a fuck about the rest of us.

Gex 2 was one of my favorite games growing up, so I’m stoked for this. No idea how well they’ll have aged though.
