When a Visual Novel and a Point & Click Adventure game love each other very much they have a special hug and a baby genre is born.

I have found “Choices Matter” also produces good results.

Chiaki4Deck is amazing and added a lot for me. Don’t have to stop playing FF7:Rebirth when someone else wants the TV 😄 Just pause, switch over, and keep playing. PS Portal seems like a good idea until you realise your phone can do the same thing with your existing controller and a £10 attachment.

I did (pre steam deck) get Chiaki working on my homebrew switch. It was okay, but nowhere near as good as the deck is performance wise.

My guess would be that it’s relatively quick for them to do and it allows them to bring the Witcher 3 back into the public eye whilst also getting some good will from the active community. Bet they announce another Witcher game release soon.

I trust they did their best.
I also trust that any sufficiently tech savvy individual will be able to bypass that system. It only takes one person to pull it off and then it’s public knowledge. Sure, they’ll fix it, and then someone will do it again.
Small companies can’t afford to take that risk and larger companies won’t want the hassle.

It’s a shame too. I liked Unity more than Unreal. Oh well.
