Tbh if they didn’t learn from last time (vita) it deserves to fail if they’re not including a usable microSD card slot. We’re at a point where the cat is out of the bag even for the average consumer, when games can be 100GB+, noone will buy it if they screw about with being an overpriced console + overpriced games. The console needs to be affordable, with affordable memory and then they’ll make their profit from the games.

My friend has so far fried 4 or 5 steamdecks, ROG Ally and two power banks before he took my advice to buy a type c cable tester and to stop using any charger that didn’t come with the device until he could test them.

Turned out it was a damaged cable, I think it was a CC line was no longer working.

I’ve had a couple of cheaper Chinese type c and usb A multi port chargers fail; I manage to fry like 3 sex toys before I realised the type A ports were outputting 12v, and at some point something went wrong and the type c fried my phone (which I guess is on me for continuing to use the charger after the issue with the type A ports)

They’re explicitly not sending out review codes until launch suggesting that it’s likely a bad game, but also means they’re likely just going to try and make their money with unrefundable day 1 sales on Playstation/Xbox store

I’m going to take a slightly different approach of what productivety means here; for me it’s literally just making my things in my life less time consuming, easier to access and return to.

With that in mind, I use Google photos to automatically back up my photos, this could be anything from wiring diagrams, patio brick layouts, a quote in a book, to a mushroom I’m wanting to identify.

I use the app plantnet if I’m wanting to identify a plant.

I use the app seeker to download music from soulseek

I upload any research papers/books downloaded from scihub/libgen to gdrive for easier access in the future.

This is of course ignoring all of the notes/timers/reminders I use my phone for as well

The only app I recommend was Obtanium, the rest of the listed things are app sources (places where open source apps are hosted, like GitHub)

Sorry if this wasn’t clear!

Recently it’s been Obtanium, basically it allows you to add apps which are hosted on GitHub/other app sources which don’t have auto updating, and have them automatically check and offer to update!

It’s been really useful for Lemmy clients (liftoff/Jerboa)/any android apps from:

GitHub

GitLab

Codeberg

F-Droid

IzzyOnDroid

Mullvad

Signal

SourceForge

SourceHut

APKMirror (Track-Only) APKPure

Third Party F-Droid Repos

Jenkins Jobs

Steam
