I considered getting a Pilet, but I can’t justify the cost when my 5-year-old lenovo flexpad does everything I need. Then I almost got a Raspberry Pi 500 just because it’s cool, but again, I don’t have any actual use case, I just love these sort of setups.

At least they stuck to it, and were transparent about the state of things.

I’ve bought several early access games that I don’t play yet, because I believe they will get there at some point. My hardware doesn’t do cyberpunk 2077 justice, but if it did I would’ve bought it too.

Yes, they are dominating the handheld gaming market and will continue to do so for a while.

This has nothing to do with your personal preferences.

You won’t regret it.

But be aware, it is an immutable distro. This means that it is basically unbreakable (you hear stories about how linux machines can become broken by some update or such, but not bazzite or other immutable distros).

But this also means that if you don’t find an flatpak (or appimage) of a program you need, it can be a little teadious to install it.

Just a warning. The distrobox option is especially flexible and powerful, but you do need to do a little reading up and setting up to install stuff using these methods.

Otherwise everything on bazzite JUST WORKS, especially gaming. And the flatpak store has a ton of stuff, I have never needed anything that wasn’t on there.

SteamOS is free to use for everyone, making it a legit Linux FOSS operating system.

It’s not easy to install for non-technical people though. But Bazzite is, and it’s basically a different “flavor” of steamOS.

It’s what I use, and it’s great.

Good point! I mean, valve doesn’t even report to stockholders!!! Bad valve, bad.

And valve has already won. Everyone else is just playing catch-up, and good luck catching up to a Linux-driven steam-integrated platform. You will need it.

For example, bazzite. I basically skipped the gamecube for various boring reasons, so I’m excited to revisit that era, maybe find some nice games to play with my kids.

Outward is made to be played by two players. It’s a really beautiful survival rpg with difficult combat.

Kudos on putting in the work. It’s comments like this that show why the fediverse is better that the rest.

I’ve been using it for a few months. After ubuntu and arch, I’m sold. Everything just works.

I’m getting back into battletech recently. The story is decent, and I just love the mechanics. I just got lucky with an AC20+++ (giant canon, the +++ means improved stats). I put it on a medium mech (wolverine), which meant no room for anything else except almmo and armor. But it doesn’t matter, it goes BOOM. Very boom.

Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2. The open-world gameplay melted my adolescent brain after growing up on NES games. I haven’t stopped playing such games since, and I still go back and play them again occasionally.

Go for the eyes Boo!!
