Have played every version of BF since it came out. Haven’t purchased or played BF2042 since they abandoned BF1 & BF5 still full of bugs.

EA doesn’t give a fuck about the quality of their games anymore. To be fair, none of the major studios do anymore. They are too big and try to race through development to make sure that this years sales numbers are bigger than last year’s.

Layoffs are common very large companies because of how they operate.

Although they start as innovative companies once they hit a certain size threshold internal inertia prevents any significant innovation.

In order to maintain growth they must buy smaller innovative companies and capitalize on the innovation using their vaster resources.

After they have sucked every last bit of money the purchased innovation, they layoff employees they purchase with the innovative company and all those they added in its ramp up.

They then go on the hunt to purchase the next smaller innovative company.

Mega corporations are a parasite on the economy.

They made great fidget toys.

I loved my slider as well. They made texting so much easier. I went from one of those to a blackberry bold.

I did a little assassin creed run this summer. Started with Unity and went to Odyssey.

Unity by far has the best story-line. The game mechanics are also more focused on being an assassin, not a brawler. Sneak and stab, drop smoke and disappear when you get in trouble.

Syndicate - they changed the focus to more brawling. However the mechanics were pretty bad and the storyline was predictable and stupid to say the least. You can still play the assasin for most of it if you want.

Origins - They went all out into brawling with this one. Complicated all of the controls. Easiest way to make it through the game is as an archer. The story lines are dull and some are just plain weird. The offer you tons of different options in gear but only a few are worth keeping. Not much chance to actually assainate anyone. Lots of weird half baked stuff like the naval warfare in the story line but nowhere else.

Odyssey - it’s basically the same as origins. They spent more time fleshing out the mechanics. Added in a ton of options but you only use a few. Added in a ton more brawling combat and very little assassination. In many instances trying to play as an assassin is just not possible. The combat is often broken. Beating the bosses is all the same. Spam arrows while dodging until they weaken, get a hit in and run away- repeat. Save often because the game crashes regularly.

Yes I played all the way through and beat the main quests and side quest on all of them.

The math works out. If a job takes 10 people a year to turn out, then 100 people should be able to get it done in 36.5 days? /s

What do you mean it would take 2 or more years for 100 people because they spend all their time bickering over what needs to be done? And those 10 managers holding 20 hours of meetings every week. Those meetings preparing for the upcoming meeting, about a meeting that was held last year where nothing was decided are important.

Translation for those unfamiliar with MBA speak.

“The executive team are all fucking morons and screwed up a easy cash cow. So now we are going layoff the people who didn’t kiss our asses properly.”

I am voting for the usual:

“My parents made a generous donation to the school I attended MBA”

This will kill new development on the engine and older games without who have a limited number of users.

The ones halfway or more through development to recently launched will have to move to subscriber model or a shit-ton of ads.

In the next 3-5 years however their profits will likely be up. So some larger company will likely buy them out.

Unless the program you need is not in the store, which, for some reason is still normal for the programs I want to use. Then it’s back to the stupid tar.bz bullshit and typing in random shit I found on the internet into the command line hoping it works.

Every 2-3 years, I get fed up with the bullshit Windows is doing and test out a few distros in a vain hope it’s finally usable. Then for some random thing I have to hit the command line and inevitable failure to accomplish what I want to do. So I unistall the OS and wait a few more years.

I have messed around with Linux for 20 years. In all that time it’s always been completely unsuable for most users. The use of the command line for anything routine is complete bullshit.

All I want to do is download a program and click on it to install. How fucking hard is that. I am not a programmer and have zero desire to be one.

I do not want to go to the command line and try to fucking remember the sudo bullshit and fail because I missed one letter in the sintax.

Just let me use the fucking computer for the tasks I need to do, not fuck around with the OS.

I get spam to my work account saying that they got my information from LinkedIn. The e-mail I use on linkedin is a spam collection account that I never use for anything real. I check it every couple of months and delete the entire inbox.

The only place they could get my contact information is one of my suppliers has a shitty webpage design with my info listed. Easy for a bot to scrape and sell.

My current theory is that the professional “sales list” data collection companies are running scraped data against Linkedin data and claiming it came from there.

I get e-mails from from companies who want to sell “sales lead” lists to me as well as a few poorly targeted fools who bought the “sales lead” list from them.
