That’s the ironic thing about it. Because they’re so safe it becomes completely bland… basically all bit ensuring it won’t be as successfully anyway

They’re being so safe it’s unsafe

I mean, the thing that people watch twitch for is mainly the person/people on the stream, the game is a backdrop, rarely the actual focus

And not everyone is ego-centric like you’re saying? I mean, there’s literally tens of thousands of streamers. Don’t just look at the biggest ones that probably mainly appeal to kids, i.e. a different audience than you. Chances are the kind of people you would enjoy watching are just smaller and more niche

The big difference is that the DayZ standalone title was controlled by Bohemia Interactive, Rocketwerkz meanwhile is Dean’s studio.

I mean, I get that I don’t have an insider view or anything, but Rocketwerkz has proven itself reliable

In addition, DayZ is like a decade or more old, even in the worst case things might just change

They are also incredibly transparent on their discord. Feel free to join it and look at what the devs are saying for more info!

I see this myth everywhere, but what is it based on? They’re still actively updating Stationeers and ICARUS

Just look at their update history of you don’t believe me

Bruh are you living under a rock? It’s constantly in the local news where I live, it’s very much controversial

I don’t see why it matters though? You’re not gonna be playing the game on your phone with limited data

Not in Diablo, but in strategy games or stuff like MOBAs or shooters? Yeah, I do

I feel like the reason people like pvp is because, well, humans are like the most advanced AI opponents and teammates you can have in a game. Most games struggle creating fun, realistic, and challenging AI opponents because it’s generally really difficult to do so.

Their previous games, like divinity: original sin 2, were also amazing, though somewhat smaller in scale/budget

It’s kinda sad how many times people have thrown out racial (and other) slurs in my games. You’d think people would have grown out of that by now

Definitively not, this is something that tends to occur at low skill levels in MOBAs, but gets better at higher levels as people figure out how to actually play the strategic layer

I’ve lost plenty of lanes but came back in the midgame, there’s a lot to do throughout the game, early, middle, and late. It’s also about your team being able to adapt to the circumstances and execute the correct strategy at the right time taking into account the situation for your team

And people struggling to do this is just a natural part of a competitive game, really. And sure, snowballing is a thing, but so are comebacks.

Pretty sure the game engine larian used is the same custom made engine they always used, updated of course, for their other games. Have you played divinity original sin 2?

Because we didn’t have as good technology for higher framerates

Not only do you need better screens, but also faster processing speeds

That it doesn’t have an unlocked frame rate should be unacceptable tbh. High refresh rate monitors are common and cheap these days.

Capitalism doesn’t get checked by consumers, there are a billion things too much to properly pay attention to and no viable alternatives.

It gets checked by either regulations and laws or replacing it with something else.

Why would you be surprised? And why would 15$ for a book be too much?

Windows being a monopoly isn’t a good thing either.

In fact, I’d say it’s almost worse than steam having a monopoly on video games, because windows is an operating system.

Which is interesting because I literally have not heard of it before today.

And looking at the current list, I know about the 6 current top wishlisted games.

Also it’s very tiring for minorities to constantly exist in a hostile world. Imagine knowing that every place you go to has at least someone outright decrying your existence.

Neither do they have a right to a platform, hence, deleted off of the platform.

Once you need it, or, alternatively, once you have enough to live comfortably for the rest of your life. It’s exponential growth, you only get one chance, just gotta decide what your goal with the money actually is.

I don’t know, slight spoilers for the general mood, but, outer wilds is that, but it’s more like… wistful, or melancholic, or bittersweet. It’s sad, but it’s a good sad. It’s emotional, and emotions feel good.

I feel like, if I were in a bad place when playing that, I don’t think it would have made it worse. It might have made it more meaningful, and be kinda… nice, in a sense. But I also feel like art like that help me a lot when I am in bad places. It’s kinda like seeing beauty in sadness, right?

But I am not you so, y’know, YMMV

I agree. And that’s was also my point! I feel like older games were chasing that profit motive much less (well, at least some of the big ones, arcades used to be a thing after all). And you can often quickly see when every franchise started falling off a cliff once it was tried to capitalize on them.

This will make me more likely to buy certain games, absolutely. And it’s really not that I feel ashamed or whatever about them, but more like, I know some people are judgey, and I’d rather not have them in the know lmao. Also work/professional stuff.
