I hadn’t heard about that since I quit reddit. That might be the new best of the worst examples of his incapability of admitting fault ever.

It’s all incredibly online, but searching the keywords “piratesoftware WoW drama onlyfangs” will get the ball rolling if you want to see a prime example of how a narcissist acts when getting caught out very publicly. He also embellished his past a lot and that got parroted in every thread mentioning him for months, so that shouldn’t be hard to stumble upon.

Ah you know, not the outcome I hoped for but it’s exactly what I expected from humans.

paraphrasing a little more than a half hour of the video: “Man, fuck Thor/Pirate Software for either lying or misunderstanding and signal boosting his incorrect interpretation of the campaign.”

I agreed with Ross previously that Thor taking a really dumb fuck position helped get more attention on the issue that was, IMO, as hopeless as trying to get the masses to care about or understand Net Neutrality. That was what I saw repeated and upvoted at the time even before Thor revealed himself to be a gigantic narcissistic nepo baby bullshitter more recently.

If you watched the vid OP, what changed his opinion? I’ll check it out once I’m home from work regardless.

I played this for 6 hours straight. Lovely port so far but there are some minor bugs. Namely in the point scoring results screen with flickering text sometimes probably z fighting. I also had the mini map get bugged position and overlap the lap times upper right a couple times.

Other thing I noticed was timing differences at higher frame rates like the steam train crossing the desert road.

OpenGL is very slow considering what it has to render. Used Vulkan but I tested OpenGL briefly and it chugged at 2160p with 120hz and frame interpolation on. AA was off.

Not all, but yeah. 75% of my wishlists are weird and interesting indie stuff from the constant Steam demo fests.

Sticking with 1440p on desktop has gone very well for me. 2160p isn’t worth the costs in money or perf.

From what I’ve heard the in-game default bindings and stick sensitivity are ass, but you can change them at least.

What’s so hard for devs to just ask someone using a controller to come up with a few good default profiles? idk.

Still, good news.

Personally I’m just very picky and increasingly so as I age because there’s a lot of retread ground I’m unwilling to pay to retread. I have no…interest really… for average/mediocrity. People say time or energy, but I always find those two things when I’m really into a game, so I don’t think it’s that. It’s fine, I’ve found new hobbies when I have nothing to play.

I also almost never replay anything. I’m the same with books and shows/movies. One and done.

A well written story will get me to forgive A LOT of bad however. The first NIER game, Replicant, comes to mind as a perfect example. The gameplay is repetitive dogshit, but I didn’t care. The story is amazing and motivated me through.

But I’m not some weird gatekeeper. You’re not doing something you need to be defensive about. Your way is not inferior somehow. Unless it was somehow financially harmful to you or loved ones relying on you is how I view it.

Plus, I rely on guys like you who recommend the stand-outs in their otherwise mountainous pile of shit :p so thanks! haha.

A lot of the really obscure stand outs I find by digging through Steam’s new releases myself, github, aggregators like lemmy, etc, or from variety game streamers who don’t chase trends. Tomato for example occasionally picks something new with no reviews that looks interesting and I end up obbessed with some flopped indie game like Knight’s Try Just perfectly on point physics and difficulty. Don’t judge a book by it’s Unity engine aping Mario 64 cover.

Age of Empires 2 /w The Conquers expansion pack.

Roller Coaster Tycoon 1. (2 was weaker without OpenRCT2, the real masterpiece, but idk if unfinished projects should count or not)

Quake 3 Arena, Unreal Tournament 1999 GOTY, Worms Armageddon, SimCity 3000 Unlimited, Forza Horizon 2 / Motorsport 3, Need for Speed Underground 1, Clonk! Rage, Metal Gear Solid 1/2/3, Ace Combat 4, Okami, Tokyo Jungle, Zelda BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Sven Co-Op, Killing Floor 1, Final Fantasy 7, LISA: The Painful, Everhood 1, Deus Ex 1, Left 4 Dead 1/2, Portal 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2… Champions of Norrath and Return to Arms, Diablo 1, Baldur’s Gate 3 makes the list…NIER both games. Planet MiniGolf.

I could go on and on.

I kinda liked the AIO water blocks with circle screens for simple animation loops. Can look pretty cool. Not into this scene personally at all, but I can appreciate it’s appealing to blinged out case enjoyers.

Alright, I’ll give the new to me crew a go. Thanks for the follow ups!

I wasn’t sure how others felt about him before either, kinda validated haha.

A good catch up, but I meant more like: are these people worth following? Because yeah I didn’t stick around once the east/west split happened to know these people.

I don’t know these people. Should I?

I knew the old crew. Still watch Jeff on YouTube.

I see Dan is there. He’s too uneducated and incurious American for my tastes. Bro doesn’t know shit about anything but wrestling. It’s play up for laughs but it’s just cringe to me.

I’d rather just have a new Mafia game in the 20’s. I love the old vehicles, just want a new story.

Can't for the life of me figure out how to set up a co-op server despite reading the readme, so I can't vouch for that new feature, but this updated fork is solid for single player.

Does AMD who makes their APU factor into this at all or is it just greed?

Holy fuck lol. I’ll buy it used in a few years then. This’ll motivate softmodders and emulation too.

TikTok, Twitch, Youtube, etc etc did a number on people, training them to self censor like that.

No, there’s a few dialogue choices but they’ll all result in Hans hating you at the start of the game. I had to replay the intro for missed achievements (initially pirated to benchmark/see if I liked the game b4 buying) and did different choices up to the big fight. The intro is railroaded.

It could be the best gadget in Earth and I still wouldn’t buy anything made by Samsung.

Their reputation is awful. Appliances and their televisions.

Afee losing some sports licenses or the Star Wars license… EA doesn’t really have much going for it anymore.

I guess we’ll see if DICE can salvage Battlefield up next.

Idk how the decade+ of Need for Speed games that range from mediocre to outright awful are selling anymore either.

I’d implore anyone who disagrees to maybe replay the MegaTon section at the beginning of Fallout 3. Bethesda haven’t evolved at all since and it’s aged badly, especially the writing.

I didn’t notice when I was 18, but that was me with 16 years less experience.

Heroic is Epic, GOG, and Amazon Prime.

Maybe don’t give Bezos more money, but if you have Prime alreafy anyways, then you get 4-5 games for every one that Epic gives away. Some are on their Prime service, but most of their codes are redeemed through GOG or Epic.

In USA yes. In Canada we made a law about exempting “sorry” specifically, not even joking lol.

This wasn’t even DMCA. AI sent the takedown notice to the domain registrar and labelled the fan game sub domain a *phishing/scam" website Erroneously of course with no oversight from any of the three offending parties. Funko, Shield, and the registrar who didn’t inform itch at all, automatically took down the site, AND ignored communication attempts from itch at first when they found out, according to their BlueSky profile. Massive incompetent dumpster fire.

We HoLd A dEeP ReSpEcT…

Yeah hiring AI slop to take down websites with zero humanity oversight screams “respect.”
