I use my tablet to take handwritten notes.

I don’t think they want to. I don’t recall why, but you can probably find a discussions about this easily.

I’ve never used any of them, so no idea if they work on Android or not. But here you can find some discussion about it.

It’s not in the dev’s hands. There may be some workarounds, but Google discourages against using them.

I want to use Firefox on Android, but it’s simply not there yet. It’s noticeably slower, some sites have broken layout, and I kinda hate their tan management system. I still have it installed, and willing to switch if it’s capable enough, but sadly it’s not.

It’s the best browser on desktop though, by far.

Yes. I’m currently using their own f-droid repo. I might just keep using it even when the official repo is available, since f-droid is notorious for slow updates.

It does work on desktop afaik. Not sure why they decided to go with ABP instead.

Not yet. But there’s experimental support for userscripts.

The Bromite project has been inactive for the last 9 months or so. Today I found this fork of Bromite that's well maintained and seems to work flawlessly. Hope it helps others who were looking for a replacement.

I’ve been thinking of dropping Amazon Prime as well. I don’t really use it that much. Disney+ looks like a good deal rn, but I don’t wanna give any money to those evil fucks.

Cancelled Netflix last month. Still have Amazon Prime, but mostly for the delivery. The only video streaming subscription worth keeping is MUBI for now (and Nebula, but that hardly counts).

There’s Obtainium, but the dev said that he’s trying to get it released on F-Droid, so I’m waiting for that.

Edit: It’s in the IzzyOnDroid repo now.

Not OP, but for me it’s the fact that it’s super customizable, and still very usable and smooth out of the box. It being FOSS is the cherry on top.

Infinity! It was my go-to client for Reddit, and now it’s my go-to client for Lemmy. Most basic things work. There are still some bugs lurking in the app, but it’s still in Alpha so that’s kinda expected.

The UI is really smooth and customizable, but I guess anyone who’s ever used Infinity already knows this.

It just feels like I don’t need custom ROMs anymore. Nowadays, most phones already do what I want them to do. I used to be pretty deep in the custom ROM community, but nowadays I don’t even think about rooting my phone.

I guess the only use case for custom ROMs is the privacy aspect. But most people don’t care about it, so the support is abysmal.

It’s running constantly for me. I’ve even disabled battery optimization. It barely consumes anything.

Syncthing

It’s a decentralized continuous file synchronization tool. It’s literally magic.

I’d wait until the “yank the key from keyboard and eat it” bug is fixed.
