I have roughly 20k hours in Oldschool RuneScape, and around 5000 in modern RuneScape. This would be a very long discussion if I went into every aspect, but I’ll keep it short.

Oldschool RuneScape has a very community focused development process, where what the player says, goes, for the most part. Couple that with the sense of progression and the depth to the mechanics of combat, although at first glance it seems simple, it is one of the most rewarding games you can play. I highly recommend giving it a shot.

While the modern version can still be fun, it is hindered by not being as community driven, having 20+ years of jank built on top of jank, and heavy monetisation (although this is being addressed), just makes the game fall very short of its counterpart for me. While the combat has quite a lot of depth, it doesn’t spark that sense of progression or achievement.

Agree to disagree on that, I haven’t played a Bethesda game I’ve considered “good” since Morrowind personally, and on the other hand Cyberpunk is top tier for me.

The difference between CDPR and Bethesda is CDPR games always end up being all time greats though. That’s why I don’t get influenced by the hype, and keep faith in them as developers, as well as their move to unreal engine

I distinctly remember it taking at least until the first expansion for it to be considered one of the greats. GOTY Awards have never been a true tell for quality of a game in my opinion.

As with The Witcher 3, which is now regarded as one of the best games of all time.

Metro, borderlands, basically any game that Epic pays to have exclusivity on for the first 6 months after release.

Old-school RuneScape, 12k hours, another 6k hours on rs3 pre-eoc. Over the course of 21 years.

I’m in no need of informing, and your analogies fall short of making a point. I don’t mind if you want to focus on what separates us, but this has been a waste of my time, and there is no conclusion when met with ignorance.

This comes off as incredibly dense. Equality in the highest form, with no negatives. Notice who’s the one heated here, and who’s the one with beliefs of human equality, bar none. I accept no blame as a supporter, and I will give no shade neither here nor there. And yeah, it is meaningful and I expect your acceptance, as I give to you and anyone else, friend.

And straight people aren’t all that into being bashed and berated for being straight. I want equality, and to me that means equal, no context needed. So it comes off as extremely hypocritical when I see straights, whites, whatever it may be, getting the same treatment that they get ridiculed for. Your analogy works for a lot of things, but not for the way anyone should be treated. Period.

It’s actually good considering it’s not screwing over game devs by taking a huge cut of their profits, and it’s open source.

Nah, it’s not the same. CDPR got cyberpunk to the point where it’s an amazing game, even on launch it was a good game. Bethesda will not put that work in, they will rely on modders, and oops, the modders cant be bothered with this hit trash. That means it’ll forever be known as a terrible game.

Can I get a short review of this? Looks interesting and I’ve been itching for something like this.

The turok remaster is a huge justice done to that game. Pure nostalgia
