every single bit of dialogue in that trailer sounded awful.

“I’m not just a pretty face” like, male Shepard was based off a super model, but it was never addressed in the games, they made him look rugged enough. This guy just seems like a glammed up clown.

I’m reminded of the classic clay sculpture cards in the TCG.

I’ve been singing this soundtrack’s praises for more than a decade by now, I listen to it often.

Looks more like they want the ‘interaction’ button closer to your thumb so you press them more often. It’s the same shit they’re doing with the regular YouTube app, it’s more infuriating than helpful as you will accidentally press these things more often than not.

Except they know his real name and his face, that kind of threat doesn’t work when they can just tell your country to arrest you for breaking the law.

In this case it’s a specific person that has repeatedly streamed games before their release dates, meaning he’s obtaining the games early illegally and actively encouraging other people to do the same. He makes how-tos specifically with the intention of getting more people to pirate games before they release. He’s attached his real name and face to everything so it’s no surprise Nintendo probably intends to come down harder on him than that Bowser guy they reamed a while ago.

This jackass is precisely why we can’t have nice things, he’s justifying all of the bullshit reasons these companies are against things like emulation.

what you’re against is piracy.

piracy of current gen games is what you’re against. As a consumer I should have the right to purchase a game (software) and do whatever the fuck I want with it, if I want to emulate Tears of the Kingdom because it runs and looks better on my computer than on my switch I should be allowed to do so. I purchased the console and the game, they’ve received my business, they should no longer have a say with what I do with my stuff.

Nintendo themselves use emulators for their products, there is nothing inherently wrong with emulation.

No one is complaining about Nintendo’s developers, they’re complaining about Nintendo the company.

The company is garbage. Anti-consumer as hell, proactively fighting against video game preservation, bullying fans out of making passion projects, the list goes on.

Literally no one is mad at Nintendo for the games they make, they’re infuriated because they make great games while the company shits on its own legacy.

Deep Rock Galactic, play solo on the lower difficulties and just vibe and mine. Bosco the robot that follows you on solo missions can kill pretty much everything for you most of the time, or you can have it do the mining and tasks while you shoot everything in sight.

but are you shooting the gun? if yes then it might fit the bill

It’s for posterity. He ‘asks’ the same of FFXIV players and yet it’s modding scene is one of the most degenerate places in gaming.

What an incredibly superficial comparison.

“BotW/TotK is the same because it’s an open world anime game with action combat.”

“Tales of Arise is a seemingly open world anime game with action combat.”

“Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is an open world anime (realistic style but still anime AF) game with action combat.”

Blue Protocol is an MMO, with MMO gameplay and design philosophy that just happens to have a cel shaded anime aesthetic which has existed loooooooong before Genshin somehow ‘monopolised’ the style. Meanwhile Genshin is a mostly single player experience with some online elements. Look at your apples before you start calling them oranges.

If anything, the article talks about the developers being surprised at how much of a casual audience the game attracted and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the exact same people that are comparing it to Genshin somehow thought they’d get the same experience out of a grindy MMO.

One of the greatest JRPGs of all time and it’s finally free of the Nintendo ecosystem, I cannot recommend it enough. Especially once modders get their hands on it and implement things like the English Dub.

Here’s another one, Solace Dreams https://youtu.be/IcrYfmkPl-E also really impressive, though the game didn’t seem all that balanced when this video was posted, not sure if it’s been improved since or if the creators moved on to another project.

Doom wads and hacks in recent years have been doing some absolutely insane things, and it’s only been getting better as more and more people are realising the things they can do with it. I’m not surprised in the slightest.

Total Chaos has got to be the most mind-blowing to me, it’s a total conversion mod built of GZDoom. https://youtu.be/L7IITZDBvqE

25 years too late, downtown is a fucking ghost town now, no idea what the hell they’re thinking.

is this not SEGA being cheeky about Ubisoft claiming that Skull & Bones is a quadruple A game?

or are they being serious that they’re dumping that much into Crazy Taxi?

Precisely, the rabid fans are getting on Palworld’s case for making what they call low effort garbage as if Pokémon games haven’t been exactly that since Sword and Shield, maybe even before.

“bUt At ThE eNd Of ThE dAy It’S fUn”

just throw all their stupid arguments right back at them.

No the games aren’t similar at all. but as it stands Palworld has definitely tapped into the same market as Pokémon and hopefully its success is enough of a wake-up call for them to get their shit together and deliver a game worthy of the world’s most valuable IP. Instead of 3DS games guising as Switch games.

I normally get a game or two of Mahjong Solitaire done when I have a brief respite.

A lot of folks are sleeping on mobile games either because they’re mobile games or because of gacha, when a small amount of research (in the right places) will inform you on what the quality of the games are as well as how much gacha is required to enjoy the game. A lot of which don’t “require” it or give you more than enough to obtain enough out of it to progress (usually the gear based ones). Though if you outright don’t like the blatant waifu/husbando nature a lot of them have you’re free to avoid those, no point in forcing yourself to do something you don’t like.

Genshin Impact for example, might have a massive number of players, but I have found the game itself and the storytelling to be very underrated because folks either expect far too much out of it or just don’t care. Even out of my friend group there’s a few that only play to collect characters, that’s their prerogative. It’s also technically not a mobile game since it is available on just about everything, but it does have a gacha and therefore gets lumped in with other mobile games.

I can understand why some folks were put off by the first act back when the game was new and there wasn’t much else to do, but it’s grown considerably and there’s a lot more available to new players to keep them occupied during downtime. Like an entire TCG mode that gets updated regularly and even has its own competitive scene.

A lot of these games have more effort put into them than full releases on consoles and it amuses me how many players are quick to shit on mobile games when the games they play on whatever other devices are either worse, equally if not more “predatory”, or similar enough that they would enjoy it if they actually gave it a chance.

Same thing happened to me recently with their stupid BOGO sale, I bought Xenoblade Chronicles DE and Skyward Sword “New” and they sent me both packages with no plastic wrapping whatsoever, the pre-owned stickers very obviously ripped off and lots of damage to the cases. I went to a brick and mortar to return it and they didn’t reimburse my shipping fees, I had to call customer support for them to give that back to me.

I tried to just buy them new in store and they told me they “don’t carry rare games like that anymore.” I said fuck it, and went to my local Walmart for Xenoblade and Target for Skyward Sword and it cost me less. What a fucking joke. GameStop is trash.

My most recent gripe is with Amiibo, Nintendo literally announced some new ones recently and yet none of their supposed retailers carry them, aside from Amazon who have ridiculous upcharges on them. Went to GameStop and the employees didn’t even know what the fuck I was talking about. So if you can’t buy them directly from Nintendo you’re shit outta luck cuz good luck finding anyone that sells them for retail price.
