Oh I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised. My instance actually disables downvotes, so I can’t see that, but there are a lot of reddit transplants here (I’m one of them), and reddit’s takes on things like feminism and women are overall not … good.

It never went away in the first place

Yes, last I checked, one of their prime hate forums r/KotakuInAction was still active, and still filled with the most pathetic little insects seething about the fact that women and minorities exist in media. Gamergate has never really ended. Most people just stopped paying attention to these fools.

Unfortunately, that’s easy for me to say, since I’m not on the receiving end of their doxxing and death threats.

I haven’t had the best life, but I just can’t fathom being such a total loser that I’d ever get that worked up over something like video games.

I haven’t experienced any of the problems mentioned in this article while using Firefox + uBO (on Windows, Linux, and Fennec fork on Android), nor while using the Tubular app on Android.

This seems to be the norm with most updating software, and it drives me nuts. I use Aurora Store to download and update Google Play apps, and it’s the same thing – no updates, then I’ll check again and there’s a full list. Same thing in Windows updates, same thing in Linux Mint.

If there’s something going on in the background that takes 5 - 10 minutes to complete, then at least the app should be honest about that and say something like “this can take some time” rather than a definite “no updates available,” but I’ve just mentally started interpreting it this way.

At this rate, all the memes about slipping into amogus-fueled delusions in the nursing home will come true

If I ever heard about this series before, I probably dismissed it as a joke, but this is a thing, huh?

I really thought Among Us had left the public consciousness.

Oh really? Well, that’s good news! I’ll edit my comment. Thanks for the information.

I’d go with LibreWolf.

A few years ago, Waterfox was purchased by System1, and advertising company. It also collects more user data. Edit: Looks like the dev bought it back. I’d still recommend LibreWolf though.

In my experience, LibreWolf is a good balance between privacy and functionality. I’ve never had problems with LibreWolf.
