Apps Only mode is a decent workaround… for now. https://support.google.com/googletv/answer/10070784?hl=en

Really cuts down on the amount of clutter and suggestions on the main screen.

If you have a CCwGTV, you should be using Apps Only mode. Sucks that Google hides this, because I’ve found that this is the best streaming device for my needs, but they just keep pushing ads like this. Makes me want to do a homebrew chromecast device.

But switching to Apps Only mode is a decent workaround… for now. https://support.google.com/googletv/answer/10070784?hl=en

This is the best comment in the thread. No muss, no fuss, just a link it the sauce and a timecode link to the actual event.

Thank you for your service.

It’s a turbo grafix 16 and PC engine retro console.

Saved you a click.

Please, please release a finished game. Don’t release a beta for full price and hope to fix later.

oof, I guess unless it works on a steamdeck (with keyboard and mouse) I won’t be playing this for a while.

Ok, I feel like I was transported to an alternate dimension where these words mean something.

I read the article, and it was full of references to other things I have no idea about.

What the hell is a live service game?

I played every fallout game as they came out. Bought my first windows computer to play F1 after playing it on my roommates computer. I was extremely excited for F76, but held off on purchasing until the reviews came in.

Very quickly realized that it was never going to be the game for me. Really glad I didn’t get burned on that purchase, but disappointed that I never was able to immerse myself in MMO fallout. It had such potential to be great.

Yup, I don’t feel like paying $500 just to play one game, as good as it is. I could pick up a used PS5 and then sell it when I’m done, but that’s a much bigger pain than just buying it on steam.

Then he’s not using those stock sales to help the company, he’s using it to enrich himself.

But… you’re wrong though. They are issues.

PCs slowly drift out of support for games. Over the years, some, but not all, of AAA games just don’t work on your computer. Consoles have static generations where things either work or they don’t. This is the pro and the con of the PC.

You simply do not have that problem with a PS4, it works for PS4 games. If you want a game that is only released for the PS5, then you buy a PS5.

There will always be a market for consoles. If you buy a game, know for a fact that it works. If you have a PC, it can start to be obsolete, or your graphics card might not be supported, or your OS might not be patched, or…

There will also always be a market for PCs, because you can do things cheaper, and/or better than consoles.

Holy shit that article reaks of AI generated content. If it was written by a someone that claims to be human, then that human needs a Voight-Kampff test ASAP.

What would you use it for? There’s no way I’d put any of my login credentials on there, or any thing that has any access to payments. Nothing that has access to my personal data or communications, so… seems like a non-starter for me.

I might get something that connects to my WiFi, but only to the guest network, or a separate network.

Basically assume that it has some irremovable malware in the firmware.
