Damn, I own this game, its worth boosting so it sucks I had to downvote xD

We have piracy for if Steam fails, GoG and Itch’d probably jump at the chance to take some of Steams happy customer base as well if Steam falls from grace post GabeN

Ah fair. My reading comprehension also failed there because I thought you were the same person the person you responded to was responding to was (Person I thought you were - Person you responded to - you - me: if that makes what I said make more sense). I guess my response though is that discoverability is going to be an issue for any new game regardless of whether someone chooses to put their game on Steam or not (and I’d argue that not putting their game on Steam would negatively impact their discoverability, hence another point in favour of Steams cut)

edit: (I actively hate Epic though, so consider taking their money as losing the possibility of ever getting mine. I am NOT for console exclusive bs on the PC marketplace, and Epic is actively trying to make that a thing. So if you except money from epic to go exclusive on their store, I’m only ever going to pirate your game, if I can even be bothered to play it at all)

These “B-B-BUT STEAMS MONOPOLY CROWD” really do think we have stockholm/boot licker syndrome as if a good 60%+ of steam users didnt know how to Pirate games if we truly didnt like the service

Valve had nothing to do with its competitors being garbage

You dont seem to understand what a monopoly is either since steam isnt one

Use Steams competitors then if you don’t want to pay Steams cut. If you’re getting less overall from them, that tells you all you need to know about the validity of Steams fees

Enjoy accelerating late stage capitalism while pretending you’re against it because you’re incapable of seeing things outside of black and white thinking

Damn dude that link fuckin DESTROYS every braindead “b-b-but STEAMS MONOPOLY!!!” arguement I’ve seen uttered by idiots who want to bring late stage capitalism to the PC marketplace just so they can pretend they stood up to a company

It was specifically Burial at Sea. Some of the gaps it filled in cant coexist with the gaps that the book filled in

Its more we’re defending against Steams competition and dont want to see them gain any ground (Except itch and GoG, they’re cool)

We’ll let their position have some scrutiny when the PC marketplace has some actual decent competition, I’d rather not shoot the PC gaming sphere in the foot just because Lemmy hates corporations.

Its still going after the LEAST shitty company and expecting your life to get better when the competition is FAR WORSE

The thing is, we really dont need to care that AAA games are terminally fucked, there are shitloads of indies that come out every month. The “average gamer” shit doesnt show up in very many Indie games

Hey man, I like playing ASCII graphics indies on my 2k gaming tower with its wireless rgb keyboard. I can be gaudy and tasteless abd still mostly avoid graphically intense games

Rimworld and AI gen are why I need to upgrade my Tower again

Demanding we apologize for the negative reviews now that Sony has reverted the change, if the discord server is anything to go by

Tbf, I’ve seen what happens to indies when they’re just humans in how they talk to their customers/fans. HR speak exists for a reason unfortunately

Multiple being TWO at most, one nestled in the effectively credits section of the Steam page which almost never contains information pertainant to the purchase of the game, and another nestled in the “Skip over this usually optional content” settings after you have already installed the game. I didnt even know this game was linked to PlayStation in ANY WAY until this whole fiasco. Its only uneducated because it was HIDDEN.

Its probably BOTH damage control AND Valve being staffed by PC nerds who ALSO dont want toxic console BS infecting the PC Sphere

And now because of that the PSN requirement is a poison pill. If that was a requirement from the get go, I likely would have reluctantly agreed to it. It now being retroactively enforced means if Sony doesnt relent, I and likely a lot of others will abandon the game and do what we can to get a refund, which will end up costing them a lot of money

Why do you care that a company as scummy as Sony is getting thrown under the bus? Outside of this fiasco Helldivers was a pretty great game. If throwing Sony under the bus gets this decision reversed literally EVERYONE wins, and honestly, as the Publisher, thats probably one of the things that comes with the title, taking the heat for shitty ass decisions that could otherwise tank a game

What does this comment even mean? Are you not the one saying you hope gamers receive retaliation for requesting a refund for a company pulling a bait and switch on them?

Its also wild how much Stockholm syndrome console players have for their corporate overlords, where they think that having a purchasing decision affecting level change forced on them after purchase is an ok move to make, just because the possibility of it was nestled in the fine print

Ooooh, so its a kink thing, you do it in your free time then? Apologies then, I didnt mean to kink shame

Its in the side panel tucked away, you know, the area usually delegated to unimportant credits level info, and not in the sales pitch area. I had a younger friend respond to this news “Shows how many people cant read” Like what? You’re gonna defend a corporation being scummy because TECHNICALLY if you hyper scan the info you got a HINT that something might be required?

It was so skippable I never even knew there was an option to link to a PS Account, which I dont have because my last PlayStation was the PS2

Why do they need to release for the newest version? If they were going to release soon anyways, just release for the old version of Fallout.

I mean you do you, but Beth games are modding playgrounds, the only other games I can think of really is Rimworld. So for me, playing a Bethesda game modless is like eating a sandwhich of white bread and mayo

Cyberpunk started to turn around significantly before Edgerunners came about. Its overall a good game, it just released too early and fed the hype machine too hard (Which is to say, yes shit they promised would be in the game didnt make it into the game).

Starfinder’d be cool, but Larian has been firmly in Fantasy for a good 10-15 years at least now, so I’d be more confident for Pathfinder than Starfinder

Thanks for the chuckle, this comment helped brighten my day a little!

This IS Japan we are talking about, anime FREQUENTLY draws black women more muscular than men, and other such shit thats noooooot the greatest
