Like I’ve said elsewhere, the fediverse tends to have a lot of paranoid zealots. It’s a bit offputting really.

Ok, that is pretty bad. As mentioned, I’ve had it happen once. I use the app search function a lot, which I’ve set to the swipe up gesture, and it just stopped working that day. Had to find a way to force reset the launcher. Having that happen every 2-3 days to multiple times a day would be a dealbreaker for me.

I think this is more tied with advertising analytics, but I share the same opinion. I don’t love it, but it’s not a killer. The fediverse tends to attract a more idealistic and paranoid crowd, which I don’t think is reflective of how most people are.

Honestly, don’t care. Until it gets shitty (which it still has a good chance of doing so), I’ll continue to use it.

Huh, I’ve always updated and there’s usually not much change. There are some minor ones but they don’t affect my day-to-day. The biggest ones the major version changes, but even then it’s usually a new font or some minor display tweak more than anything. I haven’t felt like it’s been disruptive.

Soon as I saw Walton Goggins on the cast list, I knew it had to be good somewhere. He never disappoints.

There were a few giant phones in the past, Sony Xperia’s Ultra at 6.4 and the Xiaomi’s Mi Max at 6.44" to 6.9". If given the 19:9 to 20:9 aspect ratios of today they’d be 7" phones (so again, don’t compare phone sizes based solely on screen diagonal). As they’re no longer made I assume they just didn’t sell well enough.

You should look for custom ROMs that incorporate the official camera app. It’s been a while since I dabbled with custom ROMs but there’s always a few makers that’d do so.

Some games do load quite fast on the HDD, I keep those there. Most games do go to the SSD first.

I don’t really care about that as long as it doesn’t interfere with my daily use; that’s what I really dislike whenever MS adds something to Edge, it adds cruft to the UI, and also why I get the complaints about ads in the Start Menu (I’m not in the USA, never had ads in the Start Menu ever). That shit would be so infuirating.

Not a privacy freak, but still concerned about the overheads with sending unncessary data too. And I really just want an OS, not a nanny on the desktop. Copilot in Edge is useful but I hate the nagging about using it.

Xiaomi currently still is quite friendly towards unlocking bootloaders, so take advantage of it. Try something like Lineage or Pixel Experience.

Read some reviews, the flaws don’t sound great. It also didn’t get very high ratings, so probably they saw the writing on the wall for this one.

Sleeper hits don’t make money in games too, I guess, with the way sales are done. Usually most of the money is made within the first month or so, right? I’m guessing they did some analysis and felt that the money wouldn’t be coming in.

For privacy-minded people, hardware switches are a nice thing. I remember when I had a Xiaomi Mi 9T with its popup camera, and it was interesting to see that some websites would trigger said popup camera. While the camera was never actually used, the thing would go up and down. This was even with an ad blocker installed.
