If you see this username on other instances, it’s almost certainly me on an alt. Kbin.social is my main home.

I love getting a game for free, because I got a game for free, because I got a game for free!
(Seriously, got the Quake games for free via the Bethesda launcher, then got em for free on steam via transferring them when the Bethesda launcher went tits up, and now getting the remaster for free because of that lmao).
Yeah that’s me lol.
OW came out, I couldn’t get it for 8-10 months, I was already playing TF2 a bit so I went hard until I could buy OW and barely touched TF2 again for a few years.
OW stopped their updates, I started picking up TF2 again outside of OW’s seasonal events. OW2 launched, I uninstalled and was back on TF2.
But kbin lets you block entire instances as a user, which is worth the tradeoff for me.
Let’s you block domains as a user. It doesn’t block the entire instance, some posts do and will still come through (as I’ve found over the weeks lol). They’ve said on the github that a feature is incoming to outright block instances, if I read correctly.
Edit: Sorry, codebase, not github: https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues/118#issuecomment-942720 ernests last comment.
Having never heard of this nor read the article, I assume it was the 2020’s equivalent of the old AIM chatbots that were amusing to talk to for 11 seconds before realizing you had better shit to do.
