Play both. One thing being great shouldn’t affect another great thing.

My dude, I agree with you. I’m just explaining how we get bullshit like this movie. Not actually supporting it or approving in any way. I can tell you right now that I have no intention of seeing this movie.

Also, everything is awesome.

I’m not disputing anything you’re saying, just trying to explain the logic of a movie production studio. If they’re trying to make a Minecraft movie, they’re going to gear it to maximize the revenue from their audience.

If they made it a kids movie, it’s because they thought that would make them the most money. Whatever kind of movie they made, it’s for monetary reasons.

That may be so, but that’s irrelevant to them. Their IP is Minecraft, not Roblox. They only need to appeal to the largest demographic of people who enjoy Minecraft (aka kids, not adults). The other interests of their target audience are hardly relevant. All that matters is that they’re interested in the topic though to see a movie.

Or more accurately, bug their parents to pay to see the movie. Because those are additional tickets, too.

Sports games have been doing it faaaar longer. Madden started in 1988, released a sequel in 1990, then hasn’t missed a year ever since. The baseball and basketball counterparts existed just as long.

But WoW didn’t really do anything new, just bigger, better, with a lot more funding. Everquest and Ultima Online did everything first, they just didn’t have that Blizzard money.

Hate to break it to you, but this had been around for decades before those games came around.

… Yes. If you haven’t played it, I highly recommend it. It’s a fantastic classic RPG.

So is this an actual Dragon Age game? An RPG like the original games?

Or is this an overwatch clone dancing on the corpse of the IP?

I had an absolute blast with the farsight gun. But honestly, if they bring it back, I hope they nerf the fuck out of it. Because kids online will be fucking insufferable with it.

Back then, you were playing with your friends in the same room. If one of your friends was being a douche and griefing with it, you could just slap them.

The tough part to recreate is that the multiplayer was so fun because it was innovative. It was one of the first games to do stuff like that.

24 years later, we’ve had a lot of games do a lot of stuff as well.

… But I’d still happily enjoy bringing all of it back, even if it was just a cosmetic facelift.

You should play 1 and 2 before 3 just so you can meet Harold. He’s a goddamn treasure.

I’ve got hundreds of hours across all of the games. Played every single one to almost 100%.

Honestly, I think I might enjoy watching this movie. I’m definitely not going to pay money to watch it in theaters, but I only watch maybe 3-6 movies a year that way. I’ll easily be entertained for a couple hours watching this when I can inevitably stream it for free or pay like $3 off redbox.

This movie seems like it’s getting an absolute ton of hate, but doesn’t really look that terrible. It’s a silly movie based on a silly game series that sets itself apart by being extremely silly. The fuck do people expect?

You know what I expect?

MOTHER#$@&ING EXPLOSIOOOOOONS!!!

I think Ashly Burch would’ve been just fine as Tiny Tina, even though she’s a full grown adult. Because, you know, she’s the actual voice actor who can channel that energy. Just age the film character up.

They cleaned a lot of that up, at least on the console version I played. And that character ends up being quite critical to the plot. You also revisit that city later in the game, so that intro serves to establish the setting and starts the plot.

It was actually quite fun! I rented it off Gamefly and enjoyed it for about 30-40 hours. It’s basically an action-adventure shooter like Metroid. It’s a decent game, not groundbreaking, but definitely doesn’t deserve the hate people give it.

In fairness, there are tons of shittier games that are considered AAA. this statement isn’t meant to defend Skull and Bones, it’s meant to show how this rating system has been diluted to useless marketing.

It’s basically them trying build a game around the funnest part of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, but somehow taking a decade to actually do it.

I’m only renting it off Gamefly because there aren’t many other new games right now. I’ll probably return it within a week.

I never played the first one, would anyone recommend trying it out?

Every ad I’ve seen of this game makes the graphics look like absolute ass. As if it was cutting edge over a decade ago. How the hell are so many reviews calling it “absolutely gorgeous”?

It just seems like a low effort cash grab.

People usually appreciate the term ‘update’ with bugfixes, QoL improvements, and whatnot.

This thing adds in an epilogue’s worth of content. It’s content that’s downloadable.

Can confirm, the portal 2 coop is fantastic.

Oh hell yeah! The first one was a freaking work of art. It was a fantastic interpretation on psychosis. I really look forward to seeing where they go with the sequel.

I just assume all these “revival” projects will be as abject shit as Duke Nukem Forever. That way I’ll be pleasantly surprised if they’re actually decent.

Apparently we had the exact same childhood.

That may be true for older kids, but this show is meant for 3 year olds. You know, the ones who will have a blast with an unplugged controller. They’ll be content seeing their favorite characters on screen.

Is this surprising to anyone? The target demographic is literally children. They don’t exactly have the most discerning tastes or assessors of quality.

Man, I used to play this game for ages. Good to see it’s still pumping out updates.

How do you fuck that up? It’s a remake. You have to actively try to make things worse.
