Bravo. You took the unique thing about the setting and character and made it into unique gameplay elements that fit the theme and sounds like fun. Superman’s dilemma is not being able to stop everything despite his power and the rules of the game tell that story. I think you’d be a good game designer if you aren’t already. The only thing I can think to add is maybe Kryptonite makes him have a health bar and diminished powers for a while, so he has to turn from the cat into the mouse for a little while until it wears off, kind of like stars in GTA.

What Wario game are you referring to? I haven’t owned a Nintendo system in a long time.

It’s a good time to be a PC gamer, this is a good move for Square Enix. I really like how even games from decades ago are still playable and very affordable. There’s a big market for quality single player RPGs as evidenced by the success of Baldurs Gate 3 and Persona 5 Royal.

The damage has been done though, I doubt any developers will put their eggs in this basket after they’ve shown themselves willing to destroy all of their customers business models

I wonder why they settled, I thought emulators were protected as long as they don’t contain any copyrighted stuff. Was it because they circumvented DRM?

the Skyrim total conversion mod, Enderal: Forgotten Stories, blew me away, and it’s free if you own Skyrim. Even has its own installer and game page on Steam.

I’m guessing streamers who want to make a video about the terribleness for views are the ones willing to pay so much for this game.

Awesome, the physics look like how I remember them from Tribes 1!

It’s wild when companies commit suicide, reminds me of when tumblr banned porn.

Cause it’s the game dev that never ends it just goes on and on my friends…

If they do this, I will be avoiding buying any SEGA games for the foreseeable future.

They did it to themselves. No one will trust them not to change the pricing model again.

Not all of them, he evidently wants the nazi gaslighters to stay.

76 is really good now though, my most played game atm.

Funny how completed games are cheaper than games that are still in development/public beta.

Source: my personal opinion, pre-OSX in the PowerPC days.

WHY HAVE SO MANY IDIOTS BOUGHT INTO IT.

Good UI, familiarity, catering to non-tech people, marketing to certain lifestyles, and the hassle of migrating out of the apple ecosystem and buying new apps. At one time apple had better offerings than the PC world did, but when it caught up any reason to buy apple products at 1.5x the cost evaporated for me. This was long before smartphones.

Larger massive multiplayer capability was one of the features Google was touting upon Stadia’s launch:

Over time, Buser [Google’s director of games] says we should not only see additional exclusive games on Stadia, but also cross-platform games doing things on Stadia “that would be impossible to do on a console or PC.” Instead of dividing up virtual worlds into tiny “shards” where only 100 or 150 players can occupy the same space at a time because of the limitations of individual servers, he says Google’s internal network can support living, breathing virtual worlds filled with thousands of simultaneous players.

Because everything ran locally at a datacenter, the real killer app of Stadia would have been a super-massively multiplayer game. There wouldn’t be any problems with latency between game states, (any lag would be between the server and the console.) Imagine massive wars or mediaeval battles with thousands of participants. They never developed games that took advantage of what was unique about the platform.

Let’s be real, Overwatch 2 was an update patch that they tried to sell as a sequel.

RIP metaverse. When VR becomes ubiquitous, I hope a sociopathic company like Facebook isn’t in charge of it.
